5. Setup
5.1 Charging the Device
Before initial use, fully charge the V8 Finder2. Use the provided Type-C charging cable and a compatible power adapter.
- Connect the Type-C cable to the charging port on the side of the device.
- Connect the other end of the cable to a USB power adapter (not always included, ensure it supports PD3.0/QC3.0 for fast charging up to 20W).
- The Charge indicator light will illuminate during charging.
- Charging times are approximately 3.2 hours (device off) or 5 hours (device on) for the 7.4V/4000mAh battery.

5.2 Connecting to the Satellite Dish
To begin satellite signal detection, connect the device to your LNB (Low Noise Block) on the satellite dish.
- Ensure the device is powered off before making connections.
- Connect the coaxial cable from your LNB to the F-type connector on the top of the V8 Finder2.
- If connecting to a TV or monitor, use the HD OUT or AV OUT ports with appropriate cables.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Powering On/Off
- Press and hold the Power button (usually located on the side or top) to turn the device on or off.
- The Power indicator light will show the device's status.
6.2 Main Menu Navigation
After powering on, the main menu will appear on the LCD screen. Use the directional buttons and the OK button to navigate.
- Installation: For satellite setup, transponder editing, and dish alignment.
- Spectrum: Displays real-time signal spectrum analysis.
- Loop: For signal loop-through functionality.
- Calculate: Automatically calculates Azimuth and Elevation angles based on location.
- Channel: Manage TV and Radio channels.
- Media: Access media playback functions (if supported).
- Tools: Contains utilities like calculator, games, or other diagnostic tools.
- System: Device settings, software upgrade, factory reset.
6.3 Satellite Signal Detection
- From the main menu, select Installation.
- Choose your desired satellite from the list. If not present, you may need to add it or edit an existing one.
- Select a Transponder (TP) frequency. You can use Auto Scan, Blind Scan, Manual Scan, or NIT Scan to find TPs.
- Adjust the satellite dish direction (Azimuth and Elevation) while observing the signal strength and quality bars on the screen.
- The device will provide a digital reading of signal strength and quality. The integrated speaker will emit an audible tone, and the Lock indicator will illuminate when a signal is successfully locked.
- Fine-tune the dish for maximum signal quality.
6.4 LNB Settings
The V8 Finder2 supports various LNB configurations:
- 13V/18V: Select the appropriate voltage for your LNB (Vertical/Horizontal polarization). The 13V/18V indicator will show the active voltage.
- 22kHz Tone: Enable or disable the 22kHz tone for switching between high/low bands on universal LNBs. The 22K indicator will show its status.
- DISEQC 1.0/1.1/1.2: Configure for multiple LNBs or motorized dishes.
- Unicable: Support for Unicable LNB systems.
6.5 AV In/Out and HD Out
- AV In: Connect an external video source (e.g., CCTV camera) to the AV IN port to display its feed on the V8 Finder2 screen.
- AV Out / HD Out: Connect the V8 Finder2 to an external display (TV, monitor) using the AV OUT (3.5mm jack to RCA) or HD OUT (HDMI) ports to view the signal or menu on a larger screen.
6.6 PVR and Softcam Support
- PVR: If a USB storage device is connected, you can record TS files (Transport Stream) directly from the satellite signal using the REC button.
- Softcam: The device supports Fastest BISS auto roll and PowerVu auto roll for specific encryption systems. Refer to advanced settings for configuration.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
- Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth.
- Do not use liquid cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials.
7.2 Software Upgrade
The V8 Finder2's software can be upgraded via its USB port to improve performance or add new features.
- Visit the official website (www.freesat.cn) to download the latest firmware for your V8 Finder2 model.
- Copy the firmware file to the root directory of a USB flash drive.
- Connect the USB flash drive to the USB port on the V8 Finder2.
- Navigate to the System menu, then select Software Upgrade.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade. Do not power off the device during the upgrade process.
7.3 Battery Care
- To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
- Store the device in a cool, dry place if not used for extended periods.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Power:
- Ensure the device is fully charged. Connect the charger and check the Charge indicator.
- Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds. - No Signal / Weak Signal:
- Check all cable connections between the LNB and the V8 Finder2. Ensure they are secure.
- Verify LNB settings (13V/18V, 22kHz Tone) are correct for your LNB type.
- Re-align the satellite dish carefully, observing the signal strength and quality meters.
- Check for obstructions between the dish and the satellite. - LNB Short Protect Warning:
- Disconnect the LNB cable immediately.
- Check the coaxial cable and LNB for any damage or short circuits.
- Replace faulty components if necessary before reconnecting. - Screen Frozen / Unresponsive:
- Try pressing the EXIT button repeatedly.
- If unresponsive, perform a soft reset by pressing and holding the Power button until the device turns off, then restart. - Software Upgrade Failure:
- Ensure the firmware file is correct for your model and placed in the root directory of the USB drive.
- Try a different USB drive.
- Do not interrupt power during the upgrade.
