5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Fueling the Engine

This trimmer mower uses a 4-stroke engine. Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Do not mix oil with gasoline. Fill the engine with appropriate 4-stroke engine oil (e.g., 10W-30) before first use and check levels before each operation.

  • Locate the fuel tank cap and oil fill cap.
  • Fill the fuel tank with gasoline using the provided funnel. Do not overfill.
  • Add the correct amount of 4-stroke engine oil to the oil fill port. Refer to the engine's dipstick for the correct level.

5.2 Starting the Engine

  1. Ensure the spark plug wire is securely connected.
  2. Move the choke lever to the "CHOKE" position (cold start).
  3. Press the primer bulb 3-5 times until fuel is visible in the bulb.
  4. Hold the engine start/stop control lever against the handle.
  5. Pull the recoil start handle firmly and smoothly until the engine starts.
  6. Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the "RUN" position.

5.3 Operating the Trimmer Mower

  • Walk at a steady pace, allowing the trimmer line to cut effectively.
  • Overlap cutting swaths slightly to ensure complete coverage.
  • Avoid hitting hard objects like rocks, fences, or concrete, as this can damage the trimmer line and cutting head.
  • For dense growth, make multiple passes, gradually reducing the height.

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your trimmer mower.

  • After Each Use: Clean debris from the cutting head, engine, and wheels. Check trimmer line for wear and replace if necessary.
  • Engine Oil: Check engine oil level before each use. Change oil after the first 5 hours of operation, then every 25 hours or annually.
  • Air Filter: Clean the air filter every 10-20 hours of operation, or more frequently in dusty conditions. Replace if damaged.
  • Spark Plug: Inspect the spark plug annually or every 50 hours. Clean or replace as needed.
