Setup
Follow these steps for proper installation and wiring of the Load Cell Sensor Transmitter Amplifier Module.
Wiring Diagram

Figure 1: Wiring Diagram. This diagram illustrates the connections for the sensor terminal, power supply, and output signals. The left terminals are for sensor input (+S, -S, +E, GND), and the right terminals are for power (Power Positive, Power Negative) and output (0-5V, 0-10V, 4-20mA).
- Sensor Terminal: Define wiring according to the sensor's sequence. For example, if the sensor's red wire is excitation positive, connect it to the transmitter's excitation positive (E+).
- Power Supply: Connect the positive terminal of the 12-24V DC power supply to "Power Positive" and the negative terminal to "Power Negative".
- Output Signals: The 0-5V, 0-10V, and 4-20mA outputs share a common negative connection with the power supply negative.
Interface Definition

Figure 2: Module Overview. This image shows the general layout of the module with its input and output terminals.
| Signal Type | Wiring Identification | Wiring Definition |
|---|---|---|
| Input Signal (Sensor) | +S | Signal Positive |
| -S | Signal Negative | |
| +E | Excitation Power Supply Positive | |
| GND | Excitation Power Supply Negative | |
| Output Signal & Power | VIN | Power Supply Positive |
| GND | Power Supply Negative | |
| OUT | 4-20mA Output | |
| 0-5V | 0-5V Output | |
| 0-10V | 0-10V Output |
Note: The output excitation power supply voltage of the module is 12V. The current and voltage outputs are relative to GND. On the front of the board, the left 4 terminals connect to the sensor, and the right 5 terminals are for output and power supply.
Operating Instructions
After successful wiring, the module is ready for operation. Ensure all connections are secure before applying power.
- Power On: Apply DC 12-24V power to the VIN and GND terminals. The power supply indicator LED should illuminate.
- Sensor Connection: Connect your load cell or strain sensor to the +S, -S, +E, and GND terminals on the left side of the module according to the sensor's specifications and the wiring diagram.
- Output Selection: The module provides simultaneous 0-5V, 0-10V, and 4-20mA outputs. Select the appropriate output for your receiving device (e.g., PLC, microcontroller, display).
- Calibration (if necessary): Depending on the specific load cell and application, calibration may be required to accurately map the sensor's output to the desired voltage/current range. Refer to your load cell's documentation for calibration procedures. The potentiometers on the module may be used for fine-tuning the output range, but precise calibration typically involves external equipment.
- Monitoring: Observe the output current strength indicator and the readings on your connected device to ensure proper operation.
Application Schematic

Figure 3: Application Schematic. This schematic demonstrates typical applications, showing the module interfacing with different types of load cells (e.g., S-type, button-type, bar-type), a power supply, and output devices such as a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) or a microcontroller.
Maintenance
The Load Cell Sensor Transmitter Amplifier Module is designed for reliable operation with minimal maintenance. Adhere to the following guidelines:
- Environmental Conditions: Operate the module within its specified temperature range (up to 80 °C) and in a dry environment to prevent moisture damage.
- Cleaning: If necessary, gently clean the module with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquids or abrasive cleaners.
- Connection Checks: Periodically inspect all wiring connections to ensure they remain secure and free from corrosion.
- Power Supply: Ensure the power supply voltage remains within the DC 12-24V range to prevent damage.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with the module, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power indicator light | No power supply, incorrect voltage, reverse polarity, or faulty connection. | Check power supply (DC 12-24V), ensure correct polarity, and verify all power connections. |
| No output signal or incorrect output | Incorrect sensor wiring, faulty sensor, incorrect output terminal selection, or module malfunction. | Verify sensor wiring according to the diagram. Test the sensor independently. Ensure the correct output terminal (0-5V, 0-10V, 4-20mA) is connected to your receiving device. |
| Unstable or noisy output | Power supply ripple, electromagnetic interference, or loose connections. | Ensure a stable and clean power supply. Check for nearby sources of electromagnetic interference. Secure all wiring connections. |
| Output does not match expected range | Module requires calibration or sensor is not properly calibrated. | Perform calibration as per sensor and application requirements. Adjust potentiometers on the module if necessary for fine-tuning. |
