3. Installation
The VEVOR Baby Gate offers two installation methods: pressure-mounted and hardware-mounted. Choose the method best suited for your application.

Figure 3: Dual installation options: Pressure-Mounted (top) and Hardware-Mounted (bottom).
3.1 Pressure-Mounted Installation (No-Drill)
This method is suitable for doorways and openings where drilling is not desired. It allows for easy relocation but is not recommended for the top of stairs.
- Insert the four adjustable tension bolts into the holes at each corner of the gate frame.
- Position the gate in the desired opening. Ensure the gate is centered and level.
- Hand-tighten the tension bolts until all four wall cups touch the walls.
- Continue to tighten the bolts evenly, turning each bolt a few rotations at a time, until the gate is securely fixed and does not move when pushed. The gap between the gate and the wall should be minimal.
- Once secured, cut off the installation tag (if present) to confirm proper tension. The lock head should remain separated by default and close when the screw is tightened.

3.2 Hardware-Mounted Installation
This method provides maximum stability and is required for installation at the top of stairs. It involves drilling small holes into the wall or door frame.
- Follow steps 1 and 2 from the pressure-mounted installation to position the gate.
- Mark the locations for the wall cups on the wall or door frame.
- Remove the gate. Drill pilot holes at the marked locations using an appropriate drill bit for your wall material.
- Attach the wall cups to the wall using the provided screws.
- Re-insert the gate and tighten the tension bolts into the secured wall cups until the gate is firmly in place.

5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and proper function of your VEVOR Baby Gate, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe the gate regularly with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
- Inspection: Periodically check all screws, bolts, and connections to ensure they are tight and secure. Re-tighten if necessary.
- Lubrication: If the gate hinges become stiff, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the hinge points.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your VEVOR Baby Gate, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Gate does not close or latch properly. | Insufficient tension from pressure mounts; gate is not level. | Re-tighten the tension bolts evenly until the gate is secure and the latch aligns. Ensure the gate is level during installation. |
| Gate feels wobbly or insecure. | Tension bolts are not tight enough; improper installation. | Ensure all four tension bolts are tightened firmly. For stair use, consider hardware mounting for increased stability. |
| Gate is difficult to open. | Latch mechanism is stiff; gate is overtightened. | Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to the latch mechanism. Slightly loosen the tension bolts if the gate is too tight. |
| Gate leaves marks on walls. | Pressure mounting without protective pads. | Use the provided wall cups and adhesive pads to protect wall surfaces. |
If these solutions do not resolve the issue, please contact VEVOR customer support for further assistance.
