4. Setup
4.1 Initial Setup and App Connection
- Charge the Camera: Before initial use, ensure the camera's battery is sufficiently charged. You can use the provided Type-C charging cable or allow the solar panel to charge it under direct sunlight.
- Download the App: Search for "Cooau Cam" in your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android) and download the application.
- Power On and Reset: Press and hold the reset button on the camera until you hear a prompt sound, indicating it's ready for pairing.
- Bluetooth Pairing: Open the Cooau Cam app, create an account if you don't have one, and follow the on-screen instructions to add a new device. The app will use Bluetooth to quickly discover and connect to your camera. Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is enabled.
- Wi-Fi Configuration: Once connected via Bluetooth, the app will guide you to connect the camera to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted. (Note: This camera supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only.)

4.2 Physical Installation
The camera comes with a buckle-type bracket for easy installation and removal. Choose a location that provides optimal surveillance coverage and good sunlight exposure for the solar panel.
- Mount the Bracket: Use the provided screws and positioning sticker to securely mount the camera bracket and solar panel bracket to a wall or desired surface.
- Attach the Camera: Slide the camera onto the camera bracket until it clicks into place.
- Connect Solar Panel: Connect the solar panel cable to the camera's charging port. Position the solar panel to receive maximum direct sunlight.
- Adjust Angle: Adjust the camera's angle to your desired viewing area. The bracket allows for flexible angle adjustment. Tighten the screws to secure the angle.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Live View and Remote Control
Once the camera is connected to the app, you can access the live view from anywhere with an internet connection.
- Open the Cooau Cam app and select your camera.
- Tap on the live view to see real-time footage.
- Use the on-screen controls to rotate the camera horizontally (180-degree pan).

5.2 Motion Detection and Alerts
The camera uses PIR human detection to minimize false alarms. When motion is detected, you will receive instant notifications on your smartphone.
- Adjust Sensitivity: In the app settings, navigate to "Motion Detection" to adjust the PIR sensitivity (Low, Medium, High, Max) to suit your environment.
- Set Custom Areas: Define up to 6 custom detection zones to monitor specific areas and ignore others.
- Alarm Settings: Configure the camera to trigger a sound and light alarm when an intruder is detected.

5.3 Recording and Storage

- Local Storage: Insert a microSD card (up to 128GB, not included) into the camera for local storage of recordings.
- Cloud Storage: The camera offers 7 days of free cloud storage for detected events. Additional cloud plans may be available.

- Clean the Lens and Solar Panel: Periodically wipe the camera lens and solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris that may obstruct vision or reduce charging efficiency.
- Check Solar Panel Exposure: Ensure the solar panel remains unobstructed and receives adequate direct sunlight throughout the day. Trim any overhanging branches or clear any accumulated snow/ice.
- Firmware Updates: Check the Cooau Cam app regularly for available firmware updates. Keeping your camera's firmware up-to-date ensures the latest features and security enhancements.
- Battery Health: While the solar panel provides continuous power, monitor the battery level in the app, especially during prolonged periods of low sunlight.
