4. Pairing Instructions

To enable voice control and full functionality, the remote must be paired with your TiVo device. The device name for pairing is typically "T1Vo_S6V_Remote".

  1. Ensure your TiVo device is powered on and accessible.
  2. To activate the pairing function, press and hold the [TiVo] button (usually located at the top center) and the [Back] button simultaneously.
  3. Continue holding until the amber LED on the remote begins to flash slowly. This indicates the remote is in pairing mode.
  4. If pairing is successful, the remote's amber LED will flash quickly 5 times, then turn off.
  5. If the remote does not successfully pair after approximately 20 complete cycles, it will exit pairing mode and revert to IR (Infrared) mode. In IR mode, basic functions will work, but voice control will not. Repeat steps 2-4 if pairing fails.

Note: Refer to your TiVo device's user manual for specific instructions on how to initiate pairing on the TiVo side, if necessary.

5. Operating the Remote Control

The PZL Voice Replacement Remote Control offers both IR and voice control capabilities (after successful pairing).

5.1 Basic Functions (IR Mode)

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the remote control. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the remote's performance degrades or the LED indicator suggests low power. Always replace both batteries with new AAA batteries of the same type.
  • Storage: Store the remote in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your PZL Voice Replacement Remote Control, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Remote Not Responding:
    • Check battery orientation and ensure they are fresh. Replace if necessary.
    • Ensure there is a clear line of sight between the remote and your TiVo device.
    • Verify the remote is pointed directly at the TiVo device's IR receiver.
  • Voice Control Not Working:
    • Confirm the remote is successfully paired with your TiVo device (refer to Section 4).
    • Ensure the microphone button is pressed when speaking commands.
    • Speak clearly and at a moderate volume.
  • Limited Functionality (e.g., only some buttons work):
    • This may indicate the remote is in IR mode but not paired for full functionality. Attempt pairing again (Section 4).
    • Some buttons might be specific to certain TiVo models or require specific TiVo software versions.
  • Weak Signal or Intermittent Operation:
    • Replace batteries with new ones.
    • Reduce distance between the remote and the TiVo device.
    • Remove any obstructions between the remote and the TiVo device.
