1. Product Overview

The KERUI 5MP 8-Channel Security Camera DVR System is a comprehensive surveillance solution designed for both day and night monitoring. This DVR supports 5MP resolution, ensuring clear and detailed image capture. It is compatible with various camera types including AHD, TVI, CVI, CVBS, and IP cameras, offering versatile connectivity for up to 8 channels. Featuring H.265+ video compression, it optimizes storage efficiency while maintaining high video quality. The system includes a pre-installed 2TB hard drive for continuous recording and offers intelligent alarm functions and remote access capabilities for enhanced security management.

2. What's in the Box

Please verify that all items are present and in good condition upon unpacking.

3. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your KERUI DVR system.

3.1 Connecting Your DVR

  1. Connect Cameras: Connect your AHD, TVI, CVI, CVBS, or IP cameras to the "VIDEO IN" BNC ports on the rear of the DVR. The DVR supports up to 8 cameras.
  2. Connect Display: Connect a monitor to the DVR using either the HDMI (HD-port) or VGA port.
  3. Connect Audio (Optional): If using cameras with audio or an external microphone, connect them to the "AUDIO IN" RCA port. Connect speakers to the "AUDIO OUT" RCA port for audio playback.
  4. Connect Network: For remote access and network features, connect an Ethernet cable from the "NET" RJ45 port on the DVR to your router or network switch.
  5. Connect USB Devices: Plug the included USB mouse into one of the "USB" ports for navigation. Additional USB devices like external storage can also be connected.
  6. Power On: Connect the power adapter to the "DC 12V" input on the DVR and then plug it into a power outlet. The DVR will power on automatically.

3.2 Initial Configuration

Upon first boot, the system may guide you through an initial setup wizard to configure basic settings like language, date/time, network settings, and hard drive initialization. Follow the on-screen prompts.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Live View and Recording

The DVR supports 24/7 continuous recording across all 8 channels. You can view live feeds from all connected cameras simultaneously on your display.

4.2 H.265+ Video Compression

The DVR utilizes advanced H.265+ video compression technology. This significantly improves the compression ratio compared to H.264, leading to longer recording times and up to 80% storage savings while maintaining high image quality and smooth viewing.

4.3 Intelligent Alarm System (Motion Detection)

The DVR features a mobile detection function that automatically triggers an alarm and sends notifications via email or mobile app (App Push) upon detecting abnormal activity. This ensures you are immediately informed of any security events.

4.4 Smart Playback

The advanced smart playback feature allows you to quickly search and review recorded footage. This function helps in locating specific events, such as human or vehicle movements, saving significant time during video review.

4.5 Remote Access

Monitor your property anytime, anywhere using the remote access function. You can view real-time surveillance footage and playback videos through compatible mobile phones (iOS/Android) and computers (PC/Notebook) with network connectivity. Download the XMeye or Icsee app for mobile access, or VMS software for PC.

5. Maintenance

  • Regular Cleaning: Gently clean the DVR unit with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the DVR is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating. Do not block ventilation openings.
  • Hard Drive Health: The pre-installed 2TB hard drive is designed for continuous recording. Periodically check the hard drive status through the DVR's system settings to ensure optimal performance. The DVR supports up to 14TB external HDD for expanded storage.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website for any available firmware updates to ensure your system has the latest features and security enhancements.
  • Data Backup: For critical footage, regularly back up data to an external storage device or cloud service if supported.

6. Troubleshooting
