2. Safety Instructions

Always prioritize safety when operating power tools. Read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before using the chainsaw. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear appropriate safety gear, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and sturdy footwear.
  • Work Area: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Do not operate the chainsaw in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
  • Bystanders: Keep children and bystanders away while operating the chainsaw. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
  • Tool Care: Maintain the chainsaw with care. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
  • Battery Safety: Use only the specified battery pack. Do not expose battery packs to rain or wet conditions. Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
  • Proper Grip: Always hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands.
  • Kickback: Be aware of kickback. Kickback may occur when the nose or tip of the guide bar touches an object, or when the wood closes in and pinches the saw chain in the cut.

Before starting, ensure all safety precautions are observed, the battery is charged, and the oil reservoir is filled.

  1. Starting the Chainsaw: With the battery installed, press the safety lock-off button (if present) and then squeeze the trigger switch to start the chain.
  2. Cutting Technique:
    • Hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands.
    • Allow the chain to reach full speed (12 m/s) before making contact with the wood.
    • Cut branches up to 120 mm in diameter.
    • Apply steady, even pressure. Do not force the saw.
    • Be mindful of the branch's weight and potential for kickback.
  3. Stopping the Chainsaw: Release the trigger switch. The chain should stop immediately.
  4. Battery Life: The 2.0 Ah / 16.8 V battery provides an autonomy of approximately 50 cuts on an average diameter of 8 cm. Actual performance may vary based on wood type and cutting conditions.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your chainsaw.

  • Cleaning: After each use, clean the chainsaw body, guide bar, and chain. Remove sawdust, chips, and debris. Use a brush or compressed air.
  • Chain Lubrication: The automatic lubrication system requires regular refilling of the oil reservoir. Ensure the system is functioning correctly by observing oil flow during operation.
  • Chain Sharpening: A sharp chain is essential for efficient and safe cutting. Sharpen the chain regularly or replace it when dull. Refer to specific chain sharpening instructions or consult a professional.
  • Chain Tension: Check chain tension frequently. A properly tensioned chain should be snug but still able to be pulled freely around the guide bar by hand.
  • Guide Bar Maintenance: Clean the guide bar groove and oil holes. Flip the guide bar periodically to ensure even wear.
  • Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Do not store fully discharged batteries for extended periods.
