Setup

1. Battery Installation and Charging

  1. Align the Li-ion battery with the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
  2. Slide the battery into place until it clicks securely.
  3. To charge, connect the provided USB-C charging cable to the USB-C port on the side of the radio and to a compatible USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, power bank, computer).
  4. The charging indicator on the radio will show charging status. A full charge typically takes several hours.

2. Antenna Attachment

  1. Screw the SMA-Female antenna clockwise onto the antenna connector at the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.

3. Belt Clip and Wrist Strap Attachment

  1. Attach the belt clip to the designated slot on the back of the radio.
  2. Thread the wrist strap through the loop at the top or side of the radio for secure carrying.

4. Earphone Connection

  1. Insert the earphone plug into the audio jack on the side of the radio. Ensure it is fully inserted for proper function.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

  • To power on, rotate the power/volume knob clockwise until you hear a click and the display illuminates.
  • To power off, rotate the power/volume knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click and the display turns off.

2. Volume Adjustment

  • Rotate the power/volume knob clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease volume.

3. Channel Selection

  • Use the up/down arrow keys on the keypad to navigate through the 999 available channels.
  • Alternatively, you can directly input the channel number using the numeric keypad.

4. Transmitting and Receiving

  • To transmit, press and hold the Push-To-Talk (PTT) button on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone.
  • Release the PTT button to receive.

5. VOX Function (Voice-Activated Transmission)

  • The VOX function allows transmission without pressing the PTT button. To activate/deactivate VOX, navigate through the menu settings.
  • Adjust VOX sensitivity in the menu to suit your environment and voice level.

6. Scrambler and DTMF Function

  • Access the menu to enable the Scrambler function for enhanced communication privacy.
  • The DTMF (Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency) function can be used for various signaling purposes, typically configured through programming software.

7. LED Flashlight Operation

  • Press the dedicated flashlight button (if available) or access the function through the menu to turn the LED flashlight on/off. Some models may offer different light modes (e.g., steady, flashing).

8. Alarm Function

  • Activate the alarm function via the menu or a dedicated button in emergency situations. This will emit a loud alert signal.

9. FM Radio Function

  • The walkie talkie includes an FM radio receiver (88.0-108 MHz). Access this function through the menu to listen to FM broadcasts.

Maintenance
