Setup

1. Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove the speaker microphone and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any visible damage.

2. Battery Installation

The HK011 speaker microphone includes a rechargeable 1200mAh battery. To install or replace the battery:

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the microphone.
  2. Gently pry open the cover.
  3. Insert the 1200mAh battery into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3. Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the microphone's battery. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the Type-C port on the microphone and a suitable USB power source.

  • A red light indicates the battery is charging.
  • A green light indicates the battery is fully charged.

4. Connecting to Your Radio

The HK011 uses a Kenwood 2-pin connector. To connect it to your compatible two-way radio:

  1. Ensure your radio is turned off.
  2. Align the two pins of the microphone connector with the corresponding ports on your radio.
  3. Gently push the connector firmly into place until it is secure.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

The speaker microphone powers on automatically when connected to a powered-on radio. To power off, disconnect it or turn off the connected radio.

2. Adjusting Volume

Rotate the volume knob located at the top of the microphone clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease volume. Adjust to a comfortable listening level.

3. Push-to-Talk (PTT) Function

To transmit, press and hold the large PTT button on the side of the microphone. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and listen for replies.

4. Using the Earphone Jack

For private listening, plug a 3.5mm earphone into the earphone jack located on the side of the microphone. The audio will then be routed through your earphone.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the microphone with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Water Resistance: While IP54 rated, avoid submerging the device in water. Ensure the Type-C port cover is securely closed in damp conditions.
  • Storage: Store the microphone in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
