4. Setup

Follow these steps to properly set up your Bemonoc AC Motor and speed controller:

  1. Mounting: Securely attach the motor using the provided bracket to a stable surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the motor.
  2. Wiring the Speed Controller: Connect the motor's wiring harness to the speed controller. Refer to the wiring diagram below for correct connections. The speed controller allows for both clockwise (CW) and counter-clockwise (CCW) rotation.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into the speed controller and then into a standard 110V AC power outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

Once the motor and speed controller are properly set up, you can begin operation:

  1. Power On: Flip the main switch on the speed controller to the 'RUN' position. The indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Adjusting Speed: Use the rotary knob on the speed controller to adjust the motor's RPM. Turn the knob towards 'High' for increased speed and towards 'Low' for decreased speed. The motor's speed can be adjusted from 0 to 7.5 RPM.
  3. Changing Direction (CW/CCW): The speed controller allows for reversible operation. To change the direction of rotation, ensure the motor is stopped, then adjust the wiring connections for CW or CCW as shown in Figure 4.1. The video in Section 4 also demonstrates the effect of the reverse switch.
  4. Power Off: To stop the motor, flip the main switch to the 'STOP' position. For complete power disconnection, unplug the power cord from the outlet.

The video in Section 4 also provides a demonstration of the motor's speed adjustment and reversible functionality.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure the long-term reliability and performance of your AC motor:

  • Cleaning: Keep the motor and speed controller free from dust, dirt, and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Avoid using liquid cleaners directly on electrical components.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect all wiring connections to ensure they are secure. Check for any signs of wear, fraying, or damage to cables and components.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that the motor's ventilation openings are not obstructed to prevent overheating.
  • Lubrication: The gearbox is typically pre-lubricated and sealed. Do not attempt to lubricate internal components unless specified by a qualified technician.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Bemonoc AC Motor, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Motor does not runNo power supply; incorrect wiring; switch in 'STOP' position.Check power connection; verify wiring according to Figure 4.1; ensure switch is in 'RUN' position.
Motor runs but speed cannot be adjustedFaulty speed controller; motor overload.Ensure the load is within the motor's rated torque; contact support if controller is suspected faulty.
Motor makes unusual noise or vibrates excessivelyImproper mounting; damaged gears; motor overload.Check mounting for stability; reduce load; contact support if internal damage is suspected.
Motor overheatsInsufficient ventilation; continuous overload.Ensure clear airflow around the motor; operate within specified load limits.

If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact Bemonoc customer support for further assistance.
