Setup

Unboxing and Initial Assembly:

Your OTD DS2 Electric Bike comes partially assembled. Carefully remove all packaging materials and components from the box. Ensure all included components are present before proceeding with assembly.

Assembly Steps:

1. Install Front Wheel: Secure the front wheel to the fork using the quick release lever.
2. Attach Handlebars: Insert the handlebar stem into the frame and tighten securely.
3. Install Pedals: Attach the left and right pedals to the crank arms. Note that pedals are typically marked 'L' and 'R'.
4. Insert Seat Post: Adjust the seat height to your preference and secure it with the quick-release clamp.
5. Connect Headlight: Connect the headlight cable to the designated port.
6. Install Reflectors: Attach the front and rear reflectors as per local regulations.
7. Charge Battery: Fully charge the battery before your first ride.

Operating

Turning On/Off:

Insert the key into the battery lock and turn it to the 'On' position. Press and hold the power button on the LCD display to turn the bike's electrical system on or off.

Working Modes:

• Pedal Mode: Ride the bike like a traditional bicycle.
• Power-Assist Mode: The motor provides assistance as you pedal. Adjust the assist level (1-5) using the '+' and '-' buttons on the display.
• Pure Electric Mode (Throttle): Twist the throttle on the handlebar to engage the motor without pedaling.

LCD Display:

The intelligent LCD display provides real-time information:

• Current Speed (MPH)
• Battery Level
• Pedal Assist Level (Gear)
• Total Mileage (ODO)
• Trip Distance

Shifting Gears:

Use the Shimano 7-speed shifter on the right handlebar to change gears, adapting to different inclines and speeds.

Lights:

Press the headlight button on the handlebar controls to turn the front LED headlight and rear tail light on/off. The rear tail light brightens when brakes are applied.

Maintenance

Battery Care:

• Charge the battery fully after each ride, especially if it's been heavily used.
• Avoid completely draining the battery to prolong its lifespan.
• Store the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
• The battery is removable for convenient off-bike charging.

Tire Pressure:

Brake Inspection:

Periodically inspect brake pads and rotors for wear. Ensure brake levers engage smoothly and provide adequate stopping power.

General Cleaning:

Clean the bike regularly with a damp cloth. Avoid using high-pressure water jets directly on electrical components.

Troubleshooting

• Bike Not Turning On: Ensure the battery is fully charged and properly seated. Check that the key is in the 'On' position and the power button on the display is pressed.
• Motor Not Engaging: Verify the pedal assist level is set above zero. Check if the throttle is functioning correctly. Ensure all electrical connections are secure.
• Reduced Range: This can be due to low tire pressure, riding in higher assist modes, frequent use of the throttle, or riding against strong headwinds. Ensure the battery is fully charged before each ride.
• Brakes Squealing: This can be normal for new brakes or after riding in wet conditions. If persistent, brake pads may need cleaning or adjustment.
