2. Package Contents

3. System Setup
Follow these steps to set up your VIKYLIN security camera system.
3.1 NVR Connections

- Connect Cameras: Connect the PoE cameras to the NVR's PoE ports using Ethernet cables. The NVR will provide both power and data transmission.
- Connect Monitor: Connect a monitor to the NVR using either the HDMI port (for up to 4K resolution) or the VGA port (for up to 1080P resolution).
- Connect Mouse: Plug the included USB mouse into one of the NVR's USB 2.0 ports.
- Connect to Network: Connect the NVR to your router or network switch using an Ethernet cable for remote access capabilities.
- Connect Power: Plug the NVR's power adapter into the DC power input and then into a power outlet. The NVR will power on automatically.
3.2 Hard Drive Installation (Optional)
The NVR does not come with a pre-installed hard drive. To enable continuous recording, you must install a SATA hard drive (up to 8TB).

- Unscrew and remove the top cover of the NVR.
- Connect the SATA data and power cables from the NVR to the hard drive.
- Secure the hard drive to the NVR chassis using the provided screws.
- Replace the NVR cover and secure it with screws.
- Upon first boot, the NVR may prompt you to format the new hard drive. Follow the on-screen instructions.
3.3 Camera Installation

- Drill pilot holes and mount the cameras using the provided screws.
- Connect the camera's Ethernet cable to a PoE port on the NVR. Ensure the connection is secure and protected from weather using the waterproof cap if installing outdoors.
- Adjust the camera's angle and focus as needed after power-up.
4. Operating Instructions
This section covers the basic operation of your VIKYLIN security system.
4.1 Local Interface Operation

- Live View: After connecting a monitor, the NVR will display the live feeds from all connected cameras. Use the mouse to navigate the interface.

- Playback: Select the "Playback" option from the menu to review recorded footage. You can search by date, time, and event.

4.2 Remote Access via Guard Viewer App
The "Guard Viewer" app allows you to monitor your security system remotely from your smartphone or tablet.

- Two-Way Audio: Utilize the built-in microphone and speaker on the cameras to listen in or speak through the camera via the NVR's local interface or the Guard Viewer app.
- Night Vision: The EXIR 2.0 night vision automatically activates in low-light conditions, providing clear black and white video up to 98 feet.
5. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your security system.
- Regular Cleaning: Periodically clean camera lenses with a soft, damp cloth to ensure clear image quality. Do not use harsh chemicals.
