4. Setup and Installation

This section outlines the steps for installing your OAE LiFePO4 battery pack. Professional installation is recommended.

4.1 Unpacking and Inspection

  • Carefully unpack the battery pack and inspect for any visible damage. Report any damage to your supplier immediately.
  • Verify all components listed in the packing list are present.

4.2 Site Selection

  • Install the battery in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area.
  • Avoid direct sunlight, high temperatures, and high humidity.
  • Ensure the mounting surface is strong enough to support the battery's weight (130.7 pounds / 59.28 kg).
  • Maintain adequate clearance around the battery for ventilation and maintenance.

4.3 Assembly and Wiring

The following video demonstrates the internal assembly and wiring process. While the product is typically pre-assembled, understanding these steps is crucial for maintenance or advanced configurations.

Video 1: Detailed assembly and wiring guide for the LiFePO4 battery pack. This video illustrates the process of installing internal components, connecting battery cells, and securing the BMS. It also shows the connection of display and power switch cables, and the tightening of terminals with a torque wrench to ensure proper electrical contact and safety. The video concludes with the initial power-up and configuration of the LCD display via a mobile application.

  1. Measure Cell Voltage: Before assembly, measure the voltage of each cell to ensure they are consistent.
  2. Install Epoxy Boards: Place the provided epoxy boards and insulating cotton within the battery enclosure to ensure proper insulation and cell separation.
  3. Position Battery Cells: Carefully place the battery cells into the enclosure, following the positive and negative sequence as indicated. Ensure insulating cotton is placed between cell rows.
  4. Install BMS Board: Secure the BMS board using M6 screws, ensuring no gaps.
  5. Connect BMS Wires: Connect the balance wires from the battery cells to the BMS board. Ensure correct polarity and sequence (B- to B+).
  6. Connect Busbars: Install the busbars to connect the battery cells in series. Tighten all nuts with a torque wrench to between 6 to 8 Nm.
  7. Connect Display and Power Cables: Connect the display and power switch cables to the front cover.
  8. Install Fire Protection: Attach the fire protection component (if included in your model).
  9. Secure Covers: Place the epoxy cover and the main cover plate, tightening them with M4 black screws.

4.4 Initial Power-Up

  • Ensure all connections are secure and correct.
  • Press and hold the ON/OFF power button for three seconds. The 4.3-inch touch screen will activate.
  • During the first installation, an "overcharge protection fault" prompt may appear. This can be cleared via the "JK" APP.

4.5 Mobile App Configuration

  • Download and install the "Extreme Air" (JK) APP on your smartphone.
  • Hold your phone close to the device and tap the APP to detect the device name.
  • Connect via Bluetooth. Enter the pairing password "123456" to authorize.
  • Once connected, detailed information will be displayed.
  • Navigate to Settings -> "Verify PWD" and enter "123456" to authorize.
