4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Control Panel Overview

4.2 Loading Laundry
Open the dryer door and load your laundry. Do not overload the dryer; the maximum capacity is 9 kg. Ensure items are not trapped in the door seal when closing.

4.3 Selecting a Program
Turn the program selector dial to choose the desired drying program. The LED display will show the estimated drying time. Available programs include:
- Cotton: For robust cotton items.
- Delicate: For heat-sensitive fabrics.
- Express 40 min: Quick drying for small loads.
- Sport: For sportswear and synthetic fabrics.
- AutoDry: Intelligent sensors detect moisture levels and automatically stop the cycle when laundry is perfectly dry, preventing over-drying.
- And more, tailored for various textile types.
4.4 Program Options
Use the touch buttons to select additional options:
- Anti-crease (120 min): Extends the anti-crease phase after the drying cycle to prevent wrinkles if laundry is not removed immediately.
- Half-load: Optimizes drying time and energy for smaller loads.
- Delay Start: Set a delayed start time for the drying cycle.
4.5 Starting and Ending a Cycle
Press the Start/Pause button to begin the drying cycle. To pause, press the button again. Once the cycle is complete, an audible signal may sound, and the display will indicate 'End'. Remove laundry promptly to minimize creasing.
5. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your dryer.
5.1 Cleaning the Lint Filter
The lint filter must be cleaned after every drying cycle. Failure to do so will increase drying time and energy consumption.
- Open the dryer door.
- Pull out the lint filter located in the door opening.
- Remove any lint by hand or with a soft brush.
- Reinsert the filter until it clicks into place.

5.2 Emptying the Condensate Container
If not connected to a drain, the condensate container must be emptied after each cycle. A warning light will illuminate if the container is full.
- Pull out the condensate container from its housing.
- Pour out the collected water.
- Push the container back in until it clicks into place.
5.3 Cleaning the Condenser Filter (Easy Clean System)
The Bosch WQG1420DFR features an Easy Clean condenser filter. This filter should be cleaned periodically, typically every few cycles or when indicated by the appliance.
- Open the service flap at the bottom left of the dryer.
- Unlock and pull out the condenser filter unit.
- Remove any lint from the filter. You may rinse it under running water if heavily soiled.
- Ensure the filter is completely dry before reinserting.
- Push the filter unit back in and close the service flap securely.

Wipe the exterior of the dryer with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
