2. Important Safety Information
Read all instructions carefully before operating the dehumidifier. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
- Always connect the unit to a properly grounded electrical outlet.
- Do not operate the unit with a damaged power cord or plug.
- Ensure the unit is placed on a stable, level surface to prevent tipping.
- Keep children and pets away from the unit during operation.
- Do not block air inlets or outlets. Maintain adequate clearance around the unit for proper airflow.

3. Setup and Installation
3.1 Unpacking the Unit
Carefully remove the dehumidifier from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage during transit. Retain packaging materials for future storage or transport.

3.2 Handle Assembly
The retractable handle is designed for easy mobility. To extend the handle, loosen the two knobs on the sides, pull the handle upwards, and then tighten the knobs to secure it in place. To retract, reverse the process.

3.3 Drain Hose Connection
Connect the provided 19.6 ft drain hose to the quick-connect fitting at the bottom rear of the unit. Ensure a secure connection to prevent leaks. Route the hose to a suitable drainage point, such as a floor drain or sink, ensuring the hose is not kinked or obstructed. The built-in pump can lift water up to 19.6 feet vertically.

3.4 Power Connection
Plug the dehumidifier into a standard 115V grounded electrical outlet. The power cord can be neatly coiled and stored on the back of the unit when not in use or for transport.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Control Panel Overview
The Storm 80X features an intelligent touch control panel. It displays real-time inlet and outlet temperature, humidity, job hours, and total life hours. Buttons include Power, Purge, Menu, and Set.

4.2 Setting Desired Humidity
- Press the 'Set' button to enter humidity adjustment mode.
- Use the arrow buttons to increase or decrease the desired humidity percentage (25% to 80%).
- The unit will automatically operate to maintain the set humidity level.
4.3 Continuous Mode
To operate the dehumidifier continuously, set the humidity level to 'CO%' (Continuous Mode) using the 'Set' and arrow buttons. In this mode, the unit will run constantly, removing moisture without stopping based on a set humidity level.
4.4 Automatic Features
- AUTO ON/OFF: The unit will automatically turn on or off based on the set humidity level.
- Memory Starting: In case of a power outage, the unit will restart with the last settings once power is restored.
- Auto Defrost: The system monitors ambient temperature and initiates a defrost cycle when low temperatures are detected, preventing ice buildup on coils. The compressor pauses while the fan continues, then resumes normal operation.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your ALORAIR Storm 80X dehumidifier.
5.1 MERV-1 Filter Cleaning/Replacement
The unit is equipped with a washable MERV-1 filter. It is recommended to clean the filter every three months or more frequently depending on usage and environment. Replace the filter after two cleanings or as needed.
- Disconnect the unit from power.
- Locate the filter access panel on the front of the unit.
- Remove the filter.
- Clean the filter with warm water and mild detergent, or vacuum it. Allow it to dry completely before reinstallation.
- Reinsert the clean filter and secure the access panel.

5.2 Drain System Maintenance
Periodically check the drain hose for any blockages or kinks. Ensure the condensate pump is functioning correctly by observing water flow during operation. The 'Purge' button on the control panel can be used to manually activate the pump and clear any residual water.
6. Troubleshooting
If the unit is not operating correctly, refer to the following common issues before contacting support.
