Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the carpet extractor from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage.
  2. Positioning: Place the machine on a flat, stable surface.
  3. Filling the Solution Tank: Open the solution tank cap (refer to Figure 5). Fill the 10-gallon solution tank with clean water and an appropriate carpet cleaning solution, following the solution manufacturer's instructions for dilution. Do not overfill.
  4. Power Connection: Ensure all switches (Suction, Spray, Roller) are in the OFF position (refer to Figure 6). Plug the 50-foot power cord into a grounded 110V electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

  1. Pre-Cleaning: Vacuum the carpet thoroughly to remove loose dirt and debris before using the extractor.
  2. Starting the Machine: Turn on the main power switch. Then, activate the desired functions using the switches on the handle:
    • Suction: Activates the vacuum motor for water recovery.
    • Spray: Activates the pump for solution application.
    • Roller: Activates the brush roller for agitation.
  3. Cleaning Process:
    • For deep cleaning, engage the Spray and Roller switches. Push the machine forward slowly, allowing the solution to penetrate the carpet fibers.
    • For extraction, engage the Suction switch. Pull the machine backward over the treated area to remove the cleaning solution and dirt. Repeat as necessary until the water being extracted appears clean.
    • Overlap each pass slightly to ensure even cleaning across the 18-inch cleaning path.
  4. Monitoring Tanks: Periodically check the recovery tank (transparent lid, Figure 5) and the solution tank. Refill the solution tank as needed and empty the recovery tank when it reaches its maximum capacity.
  5. Finishing: Once cleaning is complete, turn off the Spray and Roller switches, then make a few final passes with only the Suction engaged to remove as much moisture as possible. Turn off the Suction switch, then the main power switch.

Maintenance

  1. Emptying Recovery Tank: After each use, or when full, drain the recovery tank using the drain plug (Figure 4). Rinse the tank with clean water.
  2. Cleaning Solution Tank: Empty any remaining solution from the solution tank and rinse thoroughly.
  3. Cleaning Debris Filter: Regularly check and clean the debris collection area/filter (Figure 7) to prevent blockages and maintain optimal suction.
  4. Brush Roller Inspection: Inspect the brush roller for tangled hair or debris. Clean as needed to ensure effective agitation.
  5. Hose and Nozzle Cleaning: Flush the spray hose and nozzle with clean water after each use to prevent chemical buildup and clogging. A solution of water and white vinegar can be used for stubborn residue.
  6. Exterior Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
  7. Storage: Store the machine in a dry, climate-controlled area. Wrap the power cord neatly around the cord hooks (Figure 8).
