1. Setup
Before initial use, please follow these steps to prepare your sofirn SK40 flashlight:
- Unboxing: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. The box should contain the SK40 flashlight, a 21700 battery (pre-installed), a USB-C charging cable, a lanyard, and a belt clip.
- Battery Installation: The battery is pre-installed. To activate it, unscrew the tail cap and remove the small orange insulating disc located between the battery and the contact point. Re-screw the tail cap firmly.
- Initial Charging: For optimal performance, fully charge the battery before first use. Connect the included USB-C cable to the flashlight's Type-C charging port (located under a rubber flap on the side) and to a compatible USB power source. The side indicator light will show red while charging and turn green when fully charged.
- Attaching Lanyard/Clip: Attach the included lanyard to the tail cap for secure carrying. The removable belt clip can be attached to the flashlight body as desired for convenient pocket or belt carry.

3. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your sofirn SK40 flashlight:
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the flashlight body with a soft, damp cloth. For the lens, use a lens cleaning cloth to avoid scratches.
- Battery Care: The 21700 Lithium Polymer battery should be charged regularly, especially if the flashlight is not used for extended periods. Avoid completely draining the battery to prolong its lifespan.
- O-Ring Maintenance: Periodically inspect the O-rings for wear and tear. Apply a thin layer of silicone grease to the O-rings to maintain their waterproof seal. Replace worn O-rings with the provided spares.
- Thread Lubrication: Apply a small amount of silicone grease to the threads of the tail cap to ensure smooth operation and prevent wear.
