Setup

1. Unpacking

1. Brewing Hot Coffee

2. Brewing Iced Coffee

  1. Fill the glass carafe with ice cubes up to the 6-cup mark.
  2. Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the 6-cup mark. Do not fill past the 6-cup mark for iced coffee.
  3. Place a standard basket-style paper filter into the filter basket.
  4. Add the desired amount of ground coffee to the filter. For iced coffee, a stronger brew is often preferred.
  5. Close the lid securely.
  6. Place the carafe with ice on the warming plate.
  7. Press the Iced Coffee button (if available, or follow specific instructions for iced brew mode). The machine will brew a concentrated coffee directly over the ice.
  8. Once brewing is complete, stir the iced coffee and serve.

3. Adjustable Brew Strength

To adjust the brew strength, press the Brew Strength button (often labeled "Bold" or with an icon) before starting the brew cycle. Select between "Regular" and "Bold" options based on your preference.

4. Programmable Timer (Delay Brew)

The coffee maker features a 24-hour programmable delay brew function, allowing you to set a time for brewing to start automatically.

  1. Set the current time using the Hour and Minute buttons.
  2. Prepare the coffee maker for brewing as described in "Brewing Hot Coffee" (water, filter, coffee grounds).

5. Auto Pause Feature

The auto pause feature allows you to temporarily remove the carafe during the brewing cycle to pour a cup of coffee. The flow of coffee will stop automatically. Replace the carafe within 20 seconds to prevent overflow.

6. Automatic Shutoff

For safety and energy conservation, the coffee maker will automatically shut off 2 hours after the brewing cycle is complete.

Maintenance

1. Daily Cleaning

  • Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning.
  • Wash the glass carafe and filter basket in warm, soapy water after each use. These parts are also dishwasher safe.
  • Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Do not immerse the coffee maker base in water or any other liquid.

2. Descaling (Mineral Deposit Removal)

Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting its performance. Descale your coffee maker every 1-3 months, depending on water hardness and frequency of use.

  1. Pour 1 cup of white vinegar and 2 cups of cold water into the water reservoir.
  2. Place an empty paper filter in the filter basket.
  3. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  4. Press the Power button to start a brew cycle.
  5. After about 30 seconds, turn the coffee maker off and let it soak for 30 minutes.
  6. Turn the coffee maker back on and let the cycle complete.
  7. Discard the vinegar solution from the carafe.
  8. Run 2-3 full cycles with fresh, cold water only to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste.
