Setup

Operating Instructions

Brewing Coffee

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid and fill the front-access water reservoir with the desired amount of fresh, cold water. The carafe has markings to guide you.
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place a paper filter (or reusable filter if applicable) into the brew basket. Add your desired amount of ground coffee. For best results, use 1 tablespoon of ground coffee per cup.
  3. Close Lid: Ensure the lid is securely closed.
  4. Place Carafe: Place the empty glass carafe on the nonstick hot plate.
  5. Select Brew Strength: Use the "Brew Options" button to select between "Regular" or "Bold" strength.
  6. Start Brewing: Press the I/O (On/Off) button to begin brewing. The indicator light will illuminate.
  7. Auto Pause & Pour: You can remove the carafe during brewing to pour a cup. The flow will temporarily stop. Replace the carafe within 20 seconds to prevent overflow.

Programming the Brew Time

The 24-hour programmable timer allows you to set the coffee maker to start brewing at a specific time.

  1. Set Current Time: Press the H (Hour) and M (Minute) buttons to set the current time on the digital display. Ensure AM/PM is correct.
  2. Set Program Time: Press the PROGRAM button. The display will flash. Use the H (Hour) and M (Minute) buttons to set your desired brew start time.
  3. Activate Program: Press the PROGRAM button again to confirm. The program indicator light will illuminate, indicating the timer is set.
  4. Prepare for Brewing: Ensure the water reservoir is filled, coffee grounds are in the brew basket, and the carafe is on the hot plate.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.

  • Daily Cleaning: After each use, unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool. Remove the brew basket and carafe. Wash them in warm, soapy water or place them in the dishwasher (top rack recommended). Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
  • Brew Basket Removal: The brew basket lifts out for easy filling and dishwasher-safe cleanup.
  • Descaling (Monthly/Bi-Monthly): Mineral deposits from water can affect performance. To descale, fill the water reservoir with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water. Place an empty filter in the brew basket. Run a full brew cycle. After the cycle, turn off the coffee maker and let it sit for 30 minutes. Run another cycle with the vinegar solution. Finally, run 2-3 cycles with fresh, clean water to rinse thoroughly.
