3. Package Contents

4. Setup
4.1 Hardware Connection
- Power Off Modem: Unplug the power from your modem. If your modem has a backup battery, remove it.
- Connect Router to Modem: Connect the powered-off modem to the router's 2.5 Gbps Internet (WAN) port using an Ethernet cable.
- Power On Modem: Power on your modem and wait approximately 2 minutes for it to restart completely.
- Power On Router: Connect the power adapter to the router and press the On/Off button to turn it on.
- Verify LED Status: Check the LED indicators on the router. The Power, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, 5 GHz Wi-Fi, and 6 GHz Wi-Fi LEDs should turn solid on, indicating a successful hardware connection.

4.2 Network Configuration (Tether App / Web Interface)
You can configure your router using the TP-Link Tether app or a web browser.
Method 1: Using the TP-Link Tether App
- Download the TP-Link Tether app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Open the Tether app and log in with your TP-Link ID. If you don't have one, create it.
- Tap the '+' button in the app, select 'Wireless Router' > 'Standard Routers', and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Method 2: Using a Web Browser
- Connect your device (computer or smartphone) to the router's Wi-Fi network (SSID and password are on the label at the bottom of the router) or via an Ethernet cable to a LAN port.
- Launch a web browser and enter

- Follow the step-by-step instructions to set up the internet connection and register for the TP-Link Cloud service.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Wi-Fi Bands and Performance
The Archer GE650 operates on three distinct Wi-Fi bands: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz. The 6 GHz band offers significantly higher speeds and lower interference, ideal for dedicated gaming or high-bandwidth applications. Multi-Link Operation (MLO) combines these bands for improved reliability and throughput.

5.2 Multi-Gig Ports
Utilize the 5 Gbps WAN and LAN ports for ultra-fast internet connections and high-speed data transfer to wired devices. The 2.5 Gbps LAN ports provide ample bandwidth for other wired gaming consoles, PCs, or network-attached storage (NAS) devices.
5.3 Game Acceleration and Dedicated Gaming Port
The router features exclusive game acceleration technology to prioritize gaming traffic, reducing latency and ensuring a smooth gaming experience. Connect your primary gaming device to the dedicated gaming port for automatic traffic prioritization.
