Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons.

  • Read all instructions before using the iron.
  • Use the iron only for its intended use.
  • To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquids.
  • Always turn the iron OFF before plugging or unplugging from the electrical outlet. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet; instead, grasp plug and pull to disconnect.
  • Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let the iron cool completely before putting away. Loop cord loosely around iron when storing.
  • Always disconnect iron from electrical outlet when filling with water or emptying, and when not in use.
  • Do not operate iron with a damaged cord or if the iron has been dropped or damaged. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the iron; take it to a qualified service person for examination and repair. Incorrect reassembly can cause a risk of electric shock when the iron is used.
  • Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children. Do not leave iron unattended while connected or on an ironing board.
  • Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water, or steam. Use caution when you turn a steam iron upside down – there may be hot water in the reservoir.
  • The iron must be used and rested on a stable surface.
  • When placing the iron on its stand, ensure that the surface on which the stand is placed is stable.

Temperature Settings

  • Check the fabric care label on your garment.
  • Plug the iron into a suitable electrical outlet.
  • Turn the temperature control dial to the desired setting. The power indicator light will illuminate.
  • Wait for the indicator light to turn off, indicating the iron has reached the selected temperature (approx. 1 minute heat-up time).
  • Always start with lower temperatures for delicate fabrics and increase as needed.

Dry Ironing

  • Ensure the water tank is empty or the steam control dial is set to the "Dry Ironing" position.
  • Select the appropriate temperature for your fabric.
  • Once the indicator light turns off, begin ironing.

Steam Ironing

  • Fill the water tank.
  • Set the temperature control dial to the steam range (usually indicated by steam symbols on the dial).
  • Once the indicator light turns off, turn the steam control dial to the desired steam output.
  • For a burst of steam, press the steam burst button. This is useful for stubborn wrinkles.
  • The iron provides a stable steam output of 20g per minute.

Spray Function

  • The spray function can be used with or without steam.
  • Press the spray button to emit a fine mist of water onto the fabric, helping to dampen and relax wrinkles.

Anti-Drip Feature

This iron is equipped with an anti-drip system that prevents water from dripping from the soleplate when the iron is not hot enough for steam production. This helps protect delicate fabrics from water spots.

Automatic Shut-off

For safety, the iron features an automatic shut-off function. If left unattended in a horizontal position for a certain period (e.g., 30 seconds) or in a vertical position (e.g., 8 minutes), the heating element will automatically turn off. The indicator light will flash to signal this. To reactivate, simply move the iron.

Maintenance and Cleaning

After Each Use

  • Unplug the iron from the electrical outlet.
  • Allow the iron to cool completely.
  • Empty any remaining water from the tank by opening the water inlet and tilting the iron over a sink.

  • To clean the soleplate, wipe it with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner.
  • Do not use abrasive scouring pads or harsh cleaners as they can damage the non-stick coating.
  • If starch or other residue builds up on the soleplate, wipe it with a cloth dipped in a mild vinegar solution while the iron is cool.

Storage

  • Ensure the iron is completely cool and empty of water.
  • Store the iron upright on its heel rest to protect the soleplate.
  • Store in a dry, safe place, out of reach of children.
