5. Setup

5.1 Physical Installation

1. Attach the Stand: Securely attach the desk stand to the back of the phone unit. The stand allows for two different angles.
2. Connect the Handset: Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the handset and the other end into the handset port on the phone unit (usually marked with a handset icon).
3. Connect to Network (2-Wire): The Fanvil X303 is designed to utilize existing 2-wire cabling. Connect the appropriate 2-wire cable from your wall jack to the designated 2-wire port on the phone. This connection requires a Fanvil PN switch for proper operation.

4. Connect Power:
   • Using Power Adapter: If not using Power over Ethernet (PoE), connect the power adapter to the phone's power port and then plug it into a power outlet.
   • Using PoE: If your 2-wire network connection provides PoE from the Fanvil PN switch, a separate power adapter is not required.

5.2 Initial Configuration

Upon successful physical connection, the phone will power on and attempt to connect to the network. The Fanvil X303 requires pairing with a Fanvil PN switch for optimal system operation and to establish VoIP connectivity.

• Ensure your Fanvil PN switch is properly configured and operational.
• The phone will automatically attempt to obtain an IP address and register with the PN switch.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Call Functions

• Making a Call:
  1. Pick up the handset or press the Speaker button.
  2. Dial the desired number using the keypad.
  3. Press the Dial or # key (if configured) to initiate the call.
• Answering a Call:
  • When the phone rings, pick up the handset or press the Speaker button.
• Ending a Call:
  • Hang up the handset or press the Speaker button again.
• Hold: During an active call, press the Hold button (if available) to place the call on hold. Press it again to resume.
• Transfer: During an active call, press the Transfer button (if available), dial the new number, and then press Transfer again.

6.2 Display Navigation

The 2.4-inch color display provides access to various phone features and settings. Use the navigation keys (up, down, left, right, OK) to browse menus.

• Menu Button: Press the Menu button to access the main menu, where you can configure settings, view call history, and manage contacts.
• Call Log: Press the Call Log button to view recent incoming, outgoing, and missed calls.
• Contact: Press the Contact button to access your phonebook.
• DND (Do Not Disturb): Press the DND button to activate or deactivate Do Not Disturb mode, which silences incoming calls.
