Setup and Installation

Installation of the BLACK+DECKER 5-Function Handheld Shower Head is designed to be tool-free and straightforward. Follow these steps:

  1. Prepare the Shower Arm: Turn off the main water supply to your shower. Remove your existing shower head by unscrewing it counter-clockwise from the shower arm. Clean any old plumber's tape or debris from the shower arm threads.
  2. Apply Plumber's Tape: Wrap plumber's tape clockwise around the threads of the shower arm 3-4 times.
  3. Install the Fixed Shower Head with Diverter: Screw the fixed shower head assembly onto the shower arm threads clockwise. Hand-tighten firmly, then use a wrench for an additional quarter turn if necessary, ensuring not to overtighten.
  4. Connect the Hose: Attach one end of the 60-inch stainless steel hose to the outlet on the diverter (usually located on the side or bottom of the fixed shower head). Ensure a washer is inside the hose connection. Hand-tighten firmly.
  5. Attach Handheld Shower Head: Connect the other end of the hose to the handheld shower head. Ensure a washer is inside this connection. Hand-tighten firmly.
  6. Mount the Handheld Unit: Place the handheld shower head into its designated shower mount.
  7. Test for Leaks: Turn on the main water supply and check all connections for leaks. If leaks occur, tighten the connections slightly until they stop.
