Operating Instructions: Using the Battery Tester

The Battery Daddy includes a built-in battery tester to help you quickly determine the charge level of your batteries.

  1. Locate Tester: The battery tester is integrated into the central part of the case.
  2. Identify Terminals: The tester has marked terminals for different battery types (e.g., 1.5V for AA/AAA/C/D, 9V for 9-Volt, and a slot for button cells).
  3. Test Battery:
    • For AA, AAA, C, D batteries: Place the battery between the sliding red arm and the fixed positive terminal, ensuring the correct polarity.
    • For 9-Volt batteries: Connect the battery terminals to the corresponding contacts on the tester.
    • For Coin Cell batteries: Slide the coin cell into the designated slot.
  4. Read Indicator: Observe the needle on the tester's gauge. It will indicate whether the battery is 'Good', 'Low', or 'Replace'.
  5. Store or Dispose: Store 'Good' batteries in their respective slots. Dispose of 'Low' or 'Replace' batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the case with a soft, damp cloth as needed. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the plastic.
  • Storage: Store the Battery Daddy in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to prolong the life of the case and the batteries stored within.
  • Inspection: Periodically check the latches and hinges for any signs of wear or damage. Ensure the clear lid remains securely closed.

Troubleshooting

  • Battery Tester Not Responding: Ensure the battery is correctly positioned with proper polarity against the tester's contacts. If testing a very low or dead battery, the needle may not move significantly. The tester itself does not require batteries to operate.
  • Batteries Not Fitting Securely: Verify that you are placing the correct battery size into its designated slot. Some slots are specifically molded for certain battery dimensions.
  • Lid Not Closing Properly: Check that no batteries are protruding from their slots or obstructing the closing mechanism. Ensure all latches are aligned before attempting to close and secure the lid.
