1. Introduction

The OM SYSTEM OM-3 Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Lens System Camera is designed to provide creative freedom and empower users to explore and push the boundaries of photography. Featuring a Backside-Illuminated Stacked Live MOS Sensor and built-in 5-Axis Sensor-Shift Image Stabilization, this camera is built for versatility in various environments, from urban settings to remote locations.

2. Setup

2.1. Unpacking the Camera

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. The box should contain the following items:

• BLX-1 Li-ion battery

2.2. Battery Installation and Charging

Insert the provided BLX-1 Li-ion battery into the battery compartment located at the bottom of the camera. Ensure it clicks securely into place. Charge the battery fully before first use using the supplied CB-USB13 USB cable and a compatible USB power adapter (not included, typically a standard phone charger). The battery life is designed for extended use, allowing for hundreds of shots on a single charge.

2.3. Attaching a Lens

Align the white dot on the lens with the white dot on the camera's lens mount. Gently push the lens into the mount and turn it clockwise until it clicks into place. To remove the lens, press the lens release button on the camera body and turn the lens counter-clockwise.

3. Operating the Camera

3.1. Powering On/Off and Basic Controls

To power on the camera, locate the ON/OFF switch on the top plate and slide it to the 'ON' position. The camera features an intuitive layout with physical dials and a 3-inch articulating LCD display for easy navigation and control.

3.2. Menu Navigation and Touchscreen

The OM-3 features a clean and easy-to-navigate menu system accessible via the 'MENU' button. The articulating LCD display also supports touchscreen controls, allowing for quick adjustments and intuitive interaction with settings. You can customize your 'My Menu' for frequently used features.

The OM-3 includes advanced computational photography modes:

• High Res Shot: Capture incredibly detailed images, even handheld.
• Live ND and Live GND: Built-in Neutral Density (ND) and Graduated Neutral Density (GND) filters allow for long exposure shots in bright daylight and dramatic sky effects without physical filters.
• HDR: High Dynamic Range mode for balanced exposures in high-contrast scenes.
• 120fps Pro Capture: Buffer shots before fully pressing the shutter, ensuring you don't miss decisive moments.

3.3.2. Color Filters and Profiles

Utilize the front dial to access customizable color filters and profiles, such as the 'Eye Enhance' profile, to achieve desired creative effects directly in-camera.

3.4. Video Recording

Switching between photo and video modes is seamless via the top dial. The OM-3 supports 4K video recording at up to 60 frames per second (fps) for normal speed video, and slow-motion video at up to 240 fps in HD. The 5-axis in-body image stabilization is highly effective for smooth handheld video footage.
