4. Setup and Assembly
Your MilePort 1 bike comes mostly pre-assembled. Follow these steps to prepare it for your first ride:
- Unboxing: Carefully remove the bike and all accessories from the packaging.
- Unfolding:
- Release the frame folding latch and unfold the main frame until it locks into place.
- Raise the handlebar stem and secure the quick-release lever.
- Adjust the handlebar height to your preference and secure it.
- Unfold the pedals.
- Seat Adjustment: Adjust the seat post height to ensure your feet can comfortably touch the ground when stopped. Secure the quick-release lever.
- Battery Installation/Charging:
- If the battery is separate, slide it into the frame compartment until it clicks securely.
- Charge the battery fully before first use. Connect the charger to the battery port and a power outlet. The indicator light on the charger will change when fully charged.
- Tire Inflation: Inflate tires to the recommended pressure (typically 2.5 bar / 36 PSI for 20x3.0 fat tires), as indicated on the tire sidewall.
- Brake Check: Ensure both front and rear brakes are functioning correctly and provide adequate stopping power.
5. Operation
5.1 Powering On/Off
Locate the power button on the handlebar display or battery. Press and hold to turn the system on or off.
5.2 Riding Modes
Your MilePort 1 bike offers multiple riding modes:
- Pedal Assist Mode (PAS): The motor provides assistance as you pedal. You can typically adjust the level of assistance using controls on the handlebar display. This mode extends battery life and range.
- Pure Electric Mode (Throttle): If equipped with a throttle (check local regulations for legality), you can engage the motor without pedaling. This mode consumes battery power more quickly.
- Manual Bicycle Mode: Ride the bike like a traditional bicycle with no motor assistance.
5.3 Gear Shifting
The bike features a 7-speed gear system. Use the shifter on the handlebar to change gears according to terrain and desired pedaling effort. Shift to lower gears for climbing hills and higher gears for flat terrain or downhill riding.
5.4 Braking
The MilePort 1 is equipped with disc brakes. Apply both front and rear brakes simultaneously for effective and controlled stopping. Avoid sudden, hard braking, especially at high speeds.

- Store the battery in a cool, dry place.
- Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
- Tires: Check tire pressure before each ride. Inspect tires for wear, punctures, or damage.
- Brakes: Regularly check brake pads for wear and ensure brake levers are responsive. Adjust or replace as needed.
- Chain: Keep the chain clean and lubricated to ensure smooth gear changes and prevent rust.
- Cleaning: Clean the bike with a damp cloth. Avoid using high-pressure washers directly on electrical components.
- Fasteners: Periodically check all bolts and fasteners for tightness, especially on folding mechanisms, handlebars, and wheels.
