This manual provides essential instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your turntable.
- Belt Driven: Ensures smooth and consistent platter rotation.
- 33, 45, and 78 rpm manual speed change: Accommodates various record types.
- Built-In MM Phono Preamp: Allows direct connection to line-level inputs.
- Carbon Fiber Tonearm: Provides excellent rigidity and low resonance for precise tracking.
Setup Guide
Follow these steps to correctly set up your Triangle Lunar 3 Turntable. Proper setup is crucial for optimal sound quality and longevity of your device.
1. Unpacking and Initial Placement
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Place the turntable on a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and strong vibrations.

2. Platter and Belt Installation
- Place the platter onto the central spindle of the turntable.
- Locate the drive belt and carefully stretch it around the motor pulley and the inner rim of the platter. Ensure the belt is not twisted.
- Gently rotate the platter a few times by hand to ensure the belt is properly seated and moves freely.

3. Counterweight and Headshell Installation
- Slide the counterweight onto the rear of the tonearm, with the numbered scale facing forward.
- Attach the pre-mounted headshell (with the 2M Red cartridge) to the front of the tonearm. Secure it by tightening the locking nut until it is firm.

4. Dust Cover Installation
Attach the hinges to the dust cover, then carefully align and insert the dust cover onto the designated slots at the rear of the turntable base.
5. Leveling the Turntable
Use a bubble level (not included) placed on the platter to ensure the turntable is perfectly level. Adjust the turntable's feet as necessary until the bubble is centered.
6. Balancing the Tonearm and Setting Tracking Force
- Remove the stylus protector.
- Unlock the tonearm and lift the cueing lever. Carefully position the tonearm over the platter, ensuring the stylus does not touch the platter.
- Adjust the counterweight by rotating it until the tonearm floats horizontally, parallel to the platter, when released.
- Once balanced, return the tonearm to its rest and lock it. Rotate only the numbered ring of the counterweight to '0' on the center line.
- Then, rotate the entire counterweight (including the numbered ring) counter-clockwise until the desired tracking force is set. For the integrated 2M Red cartridge, the recommended tracking force is 1.8 grams.
- Adjust the anti-skating dial to the same value as the tracking force (1.8).
7. Connecting to an Audio System
The Lunar 3 Turntable has a built-in phono preamplifier. This allows you to connect it directly to a line-level input on your amplifier or receiver (e.g., AUX, CD, Tuner input) using RCA cables. If your amplifier has a dedicated PHONO input, you can use that, but ensure the turntable's internal preamp is set to 'PHONO' (off for line-level output).

Operating Instructions
Once your turntable is set up, operating it is straightforward.
- Power On: Turn the power knob to select the desired playback speed (33, 45, or 78 RPM).
- Place Record: Carefully place a vinyl record on the platter.
- Lower Tonearm: Unlock the tonearm from its rest. Use the cueing lever to gently lower the tonearm onto the lead-in groove of the record.
- Playback: The record will begin playing.
- End of Playback: At the end of the record, lift the tonearm using the cueing lever, return it to its rest, and lock it. Turn the power knob to 'OFF'.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your turntable.
- Dust Cover: Keep the dust cover closed when not in use to protect the turntable from dust and debris. Clean the dust cover with a soft, dry cloth.
- Stylus Cleaning: Gently clean the stylus regularly using a soft brush designed for stylus cleaning, brushing from back to front.
- Turntable Surface: Wipe the turntable's plinth with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Record Cleaning: Always play clean records to prevent dust and grime from damaging the stylus and affecting sound quality.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, refer to these common solutions. For persistent problems, contact customer support.
- No Sound: Check all audio connections (RCA cables, power). Ensure the correct input is selected on your amplifier/receiver. Verify the turntable's internal preamp switch is set correctly (PHONO for phono input, LINE for line-level input).
- Distorted Sound: Check tracking force and anti-skating settings. Ensure the stylus is clean and not damaged. Verify the record is clean and free of debris.
- Skipping: Ensure the turntable is perfectly level. Check tracking force and anti-skating settings. Inspect the stylus for damage.
- Incorrect Speed: Verify the speed selector is set to the correct RPM for the record being played.
