3. Setup Guide

3.1 Inserting the SIM Card and Battery

  1. Ensure the device is powered off.
  2. Remove the back cover of the router.
  3. Insert your 4G SIM card into the SIM card slot with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner aligned correctly.
  4. Insert the removable 2000 mAh battery into its compartment, ensuring the contacts align.
  5. Replace the back cover.

3.2 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the device. Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the router's charging port and the other end to a power adapter (not supplied) or a computer's USB port.

  • The battery LED indicator will show charging status.
  • A full charge typically takes approximately 2-3 hours.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the Power button (central button) for approximately 3 seconds until the LED indicators light up.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button for approximately 3 seconds until the LED indicators turn off.

4.2 Connecting to Wi-Fi

  1. Power on the ZTE MF937 router.
  2. On your device (smartphone, laptop, tablet), open the Wi-Fi settings.
  3. Search for available Wi-Fi networks. The default network name (SSID) and password (Wi-Fi Key) are usually found on a sticker inside the battery compartment or on the device packaging.
  4. Select the ZTE MF937's SSID from the list.
  5. Enter the Wi-Fi Key when prompted.
  6. Your device should now be connected to the internet.

4.3 Using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)

WPS allows for easy and secure connection to Wi-Fi devices without manually entering the password.

  1. Press the WPS button on the top edge of the ZTE MF937 router for 2-3 seconds. The Wi-Fi LED indicator will start blinking.
  2. Within 2 minutes, activate WPS on your client device (e.g., by pressing the WPS button on a Wi-Fi adapter or selecting the WPS option in its settings).
  3. The devices will automatically connect.

5. Maintenance

5.1 General Care

  • Keep the device dry. Avoid exposure to water or humidity.
  • Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures (hot or cold).
  • Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Avoid dropping or subjecting the device to strong impacts.

5.2 Battery Care

  • Charge the battery regularly, even if the device is not in use, to maintain battery health.
  • Do not leave the battery completely discharged for extended periods.
  • If the battery is swollen or damaged, discontinue use and replace it with an official ZTE battery.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Factory Reset

If the device is experiencing persistent issues, a factory reset may resolve them. Note: A factory reset will erase all custom settings and restore the device to its original factory defaults, including Wi-Fi SSID and password.

  1. With the device powered on, locate the reset pinhole (usually near the SIM card slot or on the side).
  2. Use a small, pointed object (like a paperclip) to press and hold the reset button inside the pinhole for approximately 5-7 seconds.
  3. Release the button when the LED indicators flash, indicating the reset process has begun.
  4. The device will restart with factory settings.
