3. Controls and Features

Familiarize yourself with the buttons and ports on your MX-CR140 unit:

Top Panel Controls:

• POWER/FUNCTION: Turns the unit on/off and cycles through functions (FM Radio, AUX-in).
• MEMORY/SET: Used to save radio presets and to enter time/alarm setting modes.
• ◀◀ (Previous Track/Tune Down): Skips to previous track in AUX mode or tunes radio frequency down.
• ▶▶ (Next Track/Tune Up): Skips to next track in AUX mode or tunes radio frequency up.
• MO/ST: Mono/Stereo selection for FM radio.
• CH MODE: Cycles through saved radio presets.
• VOLUME - (AL1): Decreases volume. Hold to set Alarm 1.
• VOLUME + (AL2): Increases volume. Hold to set Alarm 2.
• SNOOZE/SLEEP/DIMMER: Activates snooze, sets sleep timer, or adjusts display brightness.

4. Setup

4.1 Power Connection

1. Connect the included power adapter to the DC IN 5V port on the back of the unit.
2. Plug the power adapter into a standard wall outlet.

4.2 Battery Backup (Optional)

For uninterrupted time and alarm settings during power outages, install 2 x AAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment located on the bottom of the unit. Ensure correct polarity (+/-) when inserting batteries.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Setting the Time

1. Ensure the unit is turned OFF (no time displayed, or display is dim).
2. Press and hold the MEMORY/SET button until the time display begins to flash.
3. Use the ◀◀ and ▶▶ buttons to adjust the hour.
4. Press MEMORY/SET again to confirm the hour and move to minutes.
5. Use the ◀◀ and ▶▶ buttons to adjust the minutes.
6. Press MEMORY/SET one more time to save the time and exit the setting mode.

5.2 Setting the Alarm (Dual Alarms)

The MX-CR140 features two independent alarms (AL1 and AL2).

1. Ensure the unit is turned OFF.
2. To set Alarm 1: Press and hold the VOLUME - (AL1) button until the alarm time display flashes.
3. To set Alarm 2: Press and hold the VOLUME + (AL2) button until the alarm time display flashes.
4. Use the ◀◀ and ▶▶ buttons to adjust the alarm hour.
5. Press the respective VOLUME - (AL1) or VOLUME + (AL2) button again to confirm the hour and move to minutes.
6. Use the ◀◀ and ▶▶ buttons to adjust the alarm minutes.
7. Press the respective VOLUME - (AL1) or VOLUME + (AL2) button again to select the alarm source (FM radio or buzzer).
8. Press the respective VOLUME - (AL1) or VOLUME + (AL2) button one more time to save the alarm setting and exit.

5.3 FM PLL Radio Operation

1. Press the POWER/FUNCTION button to turn on the unit and select FM Radio mode.
2. Manual Tuning: Use the ◀◀ and ▶▶ buttons to manually tune to your desired FM frequency.
3. Auto Scan and Save Presets: To automatically scan and save available FM stations, press and hold the MEMORY/SET button while in FM mode. The radio will scan and store up to 20 stations.
4. Recalling Presets: Press the CH MODE button to cycle through your saved preset stations.

6. USB Charging Function

The built-in USB charging port (5V/1A) allows you to conveniently charge your smartphone, tablet, or other USB-powered devices directly from the clock radio.

1. Connect your device's USB charging cable to the USB CHARGE (5V/1A) port on the back of the MX-CR140.
2. Ensure the clock radio is powered on or in standby mode for charging to occur.

7. Sleep Timer & Snooze Function

7.1 Sleep Timer

The sleep timer allows you to fall asleep to the radio, which will automatically turn off after a set duration.

1. While the radio is playing, press the SNOOZE/SLEEP/DIMMER button repeatedly to cycle through the available sleep timer durations (e.g., 10, 20, 30, 60, 90 minutes).
2. The display will show the selected duration, and the radio will turn off automatically after that time.

7.2 Snooze Function

When the alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE/SLEEP/DIMMER button to temporarily silence the alarm. The alarm will sound again after approximately 9 minutes.
