Setup
- Battery Installation:
Align the 2200mAh Li-ion Battery (PMNN4847) with the battery compartment on the back of the radio. Press down firmly until it clicks into place. To remove, slide the battery release latch and pull the battery away from the radio.
- Charging the Battery:
Insert the USB-C cable into the radio's USB-C port or place the radio into the Charger (PMLN8599) base. Connect the charger to a power source. The LED indicator on the radio will show charging status (typically red for charging, green for fully charged).
- Attaching the Belt Clip:
Slide the spring belt clip onto the designated grooves on the back of the radio until it locks securely. Ensure it is firmly attached before use.
- Attaching the Antenna:
Screw the antenna clockwise into the connector on the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.
Operating Instructions
- Power On/Off and Volume Control:
Rotate the On/Off/Volume knob (top-left knob) clockwise to power on the radio. Continue rotating clockwise to increase the volume. Rotate counter-clockwise to decrease volume and power off.
- Channel Selection:
Rotate the Channel Selector knob (top-right knob) to select one of the 64 available channels. Channels are organized into 4 zones, with a maximum of 16 channels per zone. The radio may provide voice announcements for the selected channel.
- Transmitting and Receiving:
To transmit, press and hold the large Push-to-Talk (PTT) button on the left side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone, located near the bottom of the radio's front face. Release the PTT button to receive messages.
- Voice Operated Transmission (VOX):
If enabled, the VOX feature allows hands-free transmission. The radio will automatically transmit when it detects your voice. Refer to advanced programming guides for VOX sensitivity adjustment.
- Programmable Buttons:
The BPR50dX features three programmable buttons. Their functions can be customized via programming software to access frequently used features such as scan, monitor, or power level adjustment. Consult your dealer for programming options.
- Emergency Button:
The dedicated emergency button (typically orange, located on top) can be programmed to send an alert to other radios or a dispatcher in critical situations. Press and hold for a pre-configured duration to activate.
- Noise Cancellation:

- Cleaning:
