3. Setup

3.1 Adjusting the Metal Wrist Band

The metal band can be adjusted to fit your wrist size. A band adjustment tool is typically included with your watch. If you need to remove links, ensure an equal number of links are removed from both sides of the clasp for balanced wear.

  1. Place the metal band on the removal tool, aligning the pin with the hole on the watch band.
  2. Use the thimble of the tool to rotate and push the link pin out.
  3. Remove the desired number of links. Remember to remove links evenly from both sides of the clasp to maintain balance.
  4. Reconnect the metal band. Reinstall the link pin in the direction of the eject. Firmly press the pin back into place.
  5. Carefully rotate the ejector pin to push the link pin into the flush with the side of the metal band.
  6. Check that the band is securely reconnected and firm. Save any disassembled links, as they may be useful in the future.

3.2 Setting Time and Date

Refer to the 'Side Show' diagram in the Product Features section for visual guidance on the crown and pusher functions.

  • To Set the Date: Pull out the crown to the first gear position. Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise until the correct date is displayed in the date window. Push the crown back in.
  • To Set the Time: Pull out the crown to the second gear position. Rotate the crown to move the hour and minute hands until the correct time is displayed. Ensure the 24-hour subdial (moon phase) is correctly set for AM/PM if applicable. Push the crown back in to start the watch.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Chronograph Functions

Your OLEVS watch features a chronograph for measuring elapsed time. The pushers on the side of the watch control these functions.

  • Start/Stop Chronograph: Press the top pusher (A) to start the chronograph. Press it again to stop.
  • Reset Chronograph: While the chronograph is stopped, press the bottom pusher (B) to reset all chronograph hands to zero.
  • Adjusting Chronograph Hands (if misaligned): If the chronograph hands do not reset to zero, pull the crown out to the second gear position. Use the top pusher (A) to adjust the 60-second counter, and the bottom pusher (B) to adjust the 60-minute counter. Once aligned, push the crown back in.

4.2 Luminous Function

The watch hands and hour markers are coated with a luminous material. For optimal glow in the dark, expose the watch to a strong light source (natural or artificial) for a few minutes. The intensity and duration of the glow will depend on the exposure time and light intensity.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Water Resistance

Your watch is water resistant to 30 meters (100 feet). This means it can withstand splashes, rain, or brief immersion in water. However, it is not suitable for swimming, diving, or hot water activities (e.g., showering, hot tubs), as steam and hot water can compromise the seals. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.

5.2 Cleaning

To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and band regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stainless steel bands, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid using chemical cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish.

5.3 Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by a quartz battery. When the watch stops or the second hand starts skipping, it indicates a low battery. Battery replacement should be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and prevent damage to the movement.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Watch Not Running: Check if the crown is fully pushed in. If it is, the battery may need replacement.
  • Date Not Changing: Ensure the time is set correctly, especially past midnight. If the date changes at noon, it means the watch is set for PM instead of AM. Adjust the time by 12 hours.
  • Chronograph Hands Misaligned: Follow the instructions in section 4.1 to realign the chronograph hands.
  • Condensation Under Crystal: If condensation appears, it may indicate a breach in the water resistance. Have the watch inspected by a professional immediately to prevent internal damage.
