Operating Your Powerline Extender
One-Click Wi-Fi Configuration
The TL-WPA7817 KIT features a Wi-Fi Clone button that allows you to instantly clone your router's network name (SSID) and password. This creates a unified network, meaning you don't need to remember multiple Wi-Fi credentials. Any Wi-Fi settings adjustments made on one powerline adapter are automatically synchronized across the entire powerline network.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Powerline Wi-Fi 6 Extender, consider the following common scenarios and solutions:
No Powerline Connection / Low Speeds
- Electrical Circuit: Ensure all powerline adapters are on the same electrical circuit. Connectivity may be affected if adapters are on different circuits or separated by multiple service panels.
- Direct Outlet: Always plug the adapters directly into a wall outlet. Do not use surge protectors, power strips, or extension cords, as these can interfere with powerline signal transmission.
- Electrical Interference: Other electrical devices (e.g., washing machines, refrigerators, microwaves) plugged into the same circuit can cause interference. Try moving the adapters to different outlets or turning off interfering devices temporarily to diagnose.
- Wiring Quality: Older or poor-quality electrical wiring in your home can significantly impact powerline speeds and stability.
- Distance: While powerline technology can cover up to 980 feet, very long distances or complex electrical paths can reduce performance.
Wi-Fi Issues
- Signal Strength: Ensure the TL-WPA7817 is placed in a central location within the desired coverage area.
- Wi-Fi Clone: If you used the Wi-Fi Clone feature, verify that the SSID and password on the extender match your router's. If not, re-clone or manually configure.
- Device Limits: The AX1500 Wi-Fi 6 supports connecting up to 64 devices. Exceeding this limit may cause performance issues.
General Advice
- Firmware Update: Regularly check for and install the latest firmware updates via the tpPLC app or TP-Link website to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.
- Reset: If problems persist, you may perform a factory reset on the devices (refer to the Quick Installation Guide for specific steps).
