2. Safety Information

Always observe the following safety precautions when using the KZYEE KM05 and ANCEL BST100:

  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and gloves.
  • Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off and the parking brake is engaged before connecting or disconnecting the tools.
  • Avoid contact with moving engine parts or hot surfaces.
  • Do not use the tools if they appear damaged.
  • Keep the tools away from moisture and flammable materials.
  • The KM05 is equipped with overload protection. If the circuit breaker trips, allow the tool to reset before continuing.

3. Product Components

The KZYEE KM05 Power Circuit Probe Kit includes the following main components:

  • KZYEE KM05 Power Circuit Probe
  • ANCEL BST100 Battery Tester
  • Auxiliary Ground Lead
  • Battery Connection Clips
  • Extension Cable (for KM05)

4. Setup and Connection

4.1 KZYEE KM05 Power Circuit Probe Setup

  1. Connect the auxiliary ground lead to a suitable chassis ground point on the vehicle.
  2. Connect the power clips of the KM05 to the vehicle's battery terminals (red to positive, black to negative).
  3. The KM05 will power on automatically once connected.

4.2 ANCEL BST100 Battery Tester Setup

  1. Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off.
  2. Connect the red clamp of the BST100 to the positive (+) battery terminal.
  3. Connect the black clamp of the BST100 to the negative (-) battery terminal.
  4. The BST100 will power on from the battery's voltage.

5. Operating the KZYEE KM05 Power Circuit Probe

The KM05 features four distinct working modes for diagnosing electrical systems. These modes can be cycled through by pressing the Mode Button on the device.

KZYEE KM05 Power Circuit Probe 4 Work Modes

Figure 5.1: The KM05 display showing its four working modes.

5.1 Working Modes

  • DC Voltage (0-60V): Reads DC voltage with a resolution of 0.1 volts.
  • AC Voltage (0-60V/0-10KHz): Displays maximum voltage, minimum voltage, and frequency.
  • Resistance (0-100KΩ): Measures resistance between the probe tip and the auxiliary ground lead.
  • Diode (0-3V): Identifies the positive and negative poles of a diode.

5.2 Activating Components

The KM05 can activate components both in-hand and in-vehicle. By applying power or ground signals, you can test the functionality of components such as blower motors, power window motors, relays, and lights. This helps determine if a component is intact or faulty.

5.3 Continuity Test

Use the continuity test function to detect open circuits in vehicle wiring. Connect the probe tip to one end of the wire and the auxiliary ground lead to the other end or a known good ground. The device will indicate continuity.

5.4 Overload Protection

The KM05 includes an internal circuit breaker that trips if the tool becomes overloaded, protecting the device. If the breaker trips, the tool will shut down and reset automatically.

7. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and accurate performance of your KZYEE KM05 and ANCEL BST100:

  • Clean the tools with a soft, dry cloth after each use. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspect cables and connectors for damage before and after each use. Replace if necessary.
  • Store the tools in a dry, cool environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Keep the probe tip of the KM05 clean and free of debris.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 KZYEE KM05 Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the power clips are securely connected to the vehicle battery and the battery has sufficient charge. Check for any blown fuses in the vehicle's power supply to the diagnostic port if applicable.
  • Circuit Breaker Trips Frequently: This indicates an overload. Reduce the current draw or check for short circuits in the component being tested. Allow the tool to reset.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Verify that the auxiliary ground lead is connected to a good chassis ground. Ensure the probe tip is making solid contact with the test point.

8.2 ANCEL BST100 Troubleshooting

  • No Display: Ensure the clamps are correctly and securely connected to the battery terminals. The battery must have at least 8V for the tester to power on.
  • Error Message: Refer to the specific error code displayed on the screen. Common errors include poor connection, battery voltage too low, or incorrect battery type selection.
  • Inconsistent Results: Ensure battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion. Retest after ensuring a stable connection.
