1. Setup Guide

1.1 Unboxing Your Keyboard

Carefully remove the keyboard and its accessories from the packaging. Ensure all components are present:

• Additional Keycaps (for Mac compatibility)

1.2 Connecting the Keyboard

Connect the provided USB-C cable to the port on the left side of the keyboard and plug the other end into an available USB port on your computer. The keyboard will automatically power on, and the LED light bar will illuminate.

1.3 Driver Installation (HIVE Software)

The MelGeek MADE68 Air utilizes a web-based driver called HIVE for advanced customization. Access the HIVE driver by visiting hive.melgeek.com. This platform allows you to customize key functions, lighting effects, and performance settings without installing desktop software.

2. Operating Your Keyboard

2.1 Hall Effect Magnetic Switches

The MADE68 Air features low-profile Hall Effect magnetic switches (TTC KOM mini switch) with a short 2.8mm key travel. This design provides faster and smoother keystrokes, enhancing both gaming and typing experiences.

2.2 Rapid Trigger and Adjustable Actuation

Utilize the HIVE driver to configure Rapid Trigger (RT) and adjustable actuation. Rapid Trigger dynamically activates and resets keys based on your intent, allowing for precise and quick input. Adjustable actuation allows you to set the activation point from 0.1mm to 2.4mm with 0.01mm RT accuracy and 0 deadband for optimal performance in gaming.

2.3 RGB Lighting

The keyboard features a visually striking LED lightbox that shines upwards, offering 16 million RGB colors. Customize lighting effects and colors through the HIVE driver to match your preference.

2.4 HIVE Customization Software

The web-based HIVE driver allows for comprehensive customization, including key remapping, macro creation, lighting adjustments, and performance tuning. It supports a 16K polling rate and 8K report rate, achieving an ultra-low 0.125ms delay. You can program up to 3 profiles for quick switching between different settings.

3. Maintenance

3.1 Cleaning Your Keyboard

To clean your keyboard, first disconnect it from your computer. Use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with a small amount of water or a mild cleaning solution. Avoid spraying liquids directly onto the keyboard. For dust and debris between keycaps, use a can of compressed air or the included keycap puller to remove keycaps for deeper cleaning.

3.2 Hot-Swappable Switches and Keycaps

The MADE68 Air features hot-swappable switches, allowing you to change switches without soldering. Use the provided keycap puller to carefully remove keycaps. To remove switches, use a switch puller (not included) to gently extract them. Ensure proper alignment when inserting new switches to avoid bending pins. The keyboard also comes with additional keycaps for Mac layouts, which can be swapped using the keycap puller.

4. Troubleshooting

4.1 Keyboard Not Responding

• Check Cable Connection: Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and your computer. Try a different USB port.
• Restart Computer: A simple restart can often resolve connectivity issues.
• Test on Another Device: Connect the keyboard to another computer to determine if the issue is with the keyboard or your original device.

4.2 RGB Lighting Issues

• Check HIVE Settings: Ensure lighting effects are enabled and configured correctly in the MelGeek HIVE driver.
• Firmware Update: Check for and install any available firmware updates for your keyboard via the HIVE software.

4.3 Inconsistent Key Response / Rapid Trigger Calibration

If you experience inconsistent key response or wish to fine-tune Rapid Trigger, use the calibration feature within the HIVE driver. The software allows for automatic calibration to ensure optimal accuracy and stability.
