Setup
1. MicroSD Card Installation
Before first use, insert a high-speed (Class 10 or higher) MicroSD card into the designated slot on the dash cam. Ensure the card is formatted within the dash cam's settings for optimal performance.
2. Mounting the Dash Cam
- Clean the windshield area where the dash cam will be mounted.
- Attach the main dash cam unit to the windshield using the provided adhesive mount or suction cup mount. Position it to ensure a clear view of the road ahead.
- Install the rear camera using the Rear Window Bracket. Ensure it has a clear view of the rear.
- Route the cables neatly along the vehicle's interior trim to avoid obstructing the driver's view.
3. Power Connection (Hardwire Kit JYX05)
The 3-Lead Type-C USB Hardwire Kit (JYX05) is essential for enabling the 24-hour parking monitor features. Professional installation is recommended for this component.
- Connect the RED wire (BAT) to a constant power source (always on).
- Connect the YELLOW wire (ACC) to an ignition-switched power source.
- Connect the BLACK wire (GND) to a metal part of the vehicle's chassis for ground.
- Plug the Type-C USB connector into the dash cam's power input.
4. Initial Power On and Settings
Once powered, the dash cam will automatically turn on. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the date, time, and preferred language. Adjust video resolution and other settings as desired.
5. WiFi Connection (AZDOME App)
Download the 'AZDOME App' from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). Enable Wi-Fi on your smartphone and connect to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network (SSID and password typically displayed on the dash cam screen). This allows for live view, video playback, download, and settings management.

2. 24H Parking Monitor Modes
With the JYX05 hardwire kit installed, the M550 offers three parking surveillance modes:
- Collision Detection Parking Mode: The built-in G-sensor detects impacts and automatically locks the video footage, protecting it from being overwritten.
- Time-lapse Parking Mode: The dash cam records continuously at a low frame rate, compressing hours of footage into minutes, providing comprehensive coverage while minimizing storage space.
- Motion Detection Parking Mode: The camera automatically starts recording when motion is detected in its field of view, conserving power and storage.
3. Built-in WiFi and AZDOME App
The integrated WiFi allows seamless interaction with the AZDOME App:
- Live View: Stream real-time video from the dash cam to your smartphone.
- Video Playback & Download: Access recorded videos, play them back, and download important clips directly to your phone.
- Management & Sharing: Organize your footage and easily share travel landscapes or critical moments with friends and family on social media.
- Settings: Adjust dash cam settings directly from the app.
4. Built-in GPS Functionality
The M550's built-in GPS module records your driving route data, including speed, latitude, and longitude. This information can be viewed using the AZDOME GPS Player software on your computer (compatible with macOS and Windows). This feature provides crucial evidence in case of incidents.

5. Loop Recording and G-Sensor
The dash cam features loop recording, which continuously records over the oldest footage when the memory card is full, ensuring uninterrupted recording. The G-sensor automatically detects sudden shakes or collisions and locks the current video segment to prevent it from being overwritten, safeguarding important event footage.
Maintenance
- Clean Lenses: Regularly clean the camera lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear video quality.
- Format MicroSD Card: Periodically format the MicroSD card (e.g., once a month) within the dash cam's settings to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Back up any important files before formatting.
- Firmware Updates: Check the AZDOME official website for any available firmware updates to ensure your dash cam has the latest features and bug fixes.
- Temperature: Avoid exposing the dash cam to extreme temperatures for prolonged periods, as this can affect battery life and component longevity.
Troubleshooting
- Dash Cam Not Turning On:
Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the dash cam and the vehicle's power source. Check the vehicle's fuse box if using the hardwire kit. Test with a different power source if possible.
- Recording Issues (Freezing/Skipping):
Use a high-speed (Class 10 or U3) MicroSD card from a reputable brand. Format the MicroSD card regularly. If issues persist, try a different MicroSD card.
- WiFi Connection Problems:
Ensure your smartphone is within 10 feet of the dash cam. Restart both the dash cam and your phone. Re-enter the WiFi password carefully. Check if the AZDOME App is updated to the latest version.
- GPS Not Working:
Ensure the dash cam has a clear view of the sky (not obstructed by tinted windows or metal objects). Allow a few minutes for the GPS signal to acquire after powering on. Verify GPS settings are enabled in the dash cam menu.
- Parking Monitor Not Activating:
Confirm that the 3-Lead Type-C USB Hardwire Kit (JYX05) is correctly installed and wired to constant and ignition-switched power sources. Check parking monitor settings in the dash cam menu.
