Product Overview
The AZDOME M550 is a 3-channel dash camera system designed for comprehensive vehicle surveillance. It features a super capacitor for extended lifespan, eliminating the need for a traditional battery. The device requires a constant power connection to your vehicle, typically via a hardwire kit, cigarette lighter adapter, or OBD cable. This manual provides detailed instructions for setup, operation, and maintenance of your M550 dash cam.

Setup and Installation
Mounting the Dash Cam
The AZDOME M550 can be mounted on your vehicle's dashboard or windshield. Choose a location that does not obstruct your view of the road and allows for optimal camera angles for all three channels (front, inside, and rear). Ensure the mounting surface is clean and dry before attaching the mount.
Power Connection
The M550 dash cam operates on a super capacitor and requires continuous power from your vehicle. The included 3-Lead Type-C USB Hardwire Kit (JYX05) is recommended for optimal performance, especially for enabling the 24-hour parking monitor feature. Connect the hardwire kit according to your vehicle's fuse box diagram, ensuring proper connection to constant power (BAT), accessory power (ACC), and ground.
Alternatively, the dash cam can be powered via a standard cigarette lighter adapter or an OBD cable (not included), but these methods may not support all parking mode functionalities.
Operating Instructions
Initial Setup
Before first use, insert a high-speed microSD card (Class 10 or higher, up to 256GB recommended) into the designated slot on the dash cam. It is advisable to format the memory card within the dash cam's settings menu before initial recording to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.
Recording Modes
The M550 supports various recording configurations:
- Front Only: Records in 4K (3840x2160P).
- Front and Rear: Records front in 4K and rear in 2.5K.
- Front and Inside: Records front in 2.5K (2560x1440P) and inside in 1080P.
- Front, Rear, and Inside: Records front in 2.5K, rear in 2.5K, and inside in 1080P.

Wi-Fi Connectivity and App Usage
The M550 features built-in Wi-Fi, allowing you to connect your smartphone (iOS or Android) to the dash cam via the 'AZDOME App'. This app enables live view, video playback, downloading recorded footage, managing settings, and sharing content directly from your device. Ensure your phone is within approximately 10 feet of the dash cam for a stable connection.

GPS Functionality
With built-in GPS, the M550 records your driving route, speed, and geographical coordinates. This data can be viewed using the dedicated AZDOME GPS Player software on a computer (macOS or Windows) or through the mobile app, providing comprehensive evidence of your journey.

24-Hour Parking Monitor
When properly hardwired, the M550 offers three parking surveillance modes:
- Collision Detection: The built-in G-sensor detects impacts and automatically locks the corresponding video footage.
- Time-lapse Recording: The dash cam records continuously at a low frame rate, compressing hours of footage into minutes, ideal for long-term parking monitoring.
- Motion Detection: The camera automatically starts recording when motion is detected in its field of view.
Super Night Vision
The front camera incorporates Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology to balance exposure in challenging lighting conditions, enhancing detail in both bright and dark areas. Coupled with 6 IR LEDs for the cabin camera, this ensures clear video capture even in complete darkness, aiding in accurate license plate recognition and interior monitoring.

Maintenance
- Memory Card Management: Regularly format your microSD card (at least once a month) to prevent data corruption and ensure optimal recording performance. Back up important footage before formatting.
- Lens Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently clean the camera lenses to avoid blurry footage. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Environmental Conditions: Avoid exposing the dash cam to extreme temperatures for prolonged periods. Ensure proper ventilation around the device.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
- Dash Cam Not Powering On:
Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the dash cam and the vehicle's power source. Verify that the vehicle's power outlet (if using cigarette lighter) or fuse connections (if hardwired) are functional.
- Recording Issues (e.g., footage not saving, corrupted files):
Check if the microSD card is inserted correctly and is not full. Format the memory card regularly. Ensure you are using a high-speed (Class 10 or U3) microSD card from a reputable brand.
- Wi-Fi Connection Problems:
Ensure your smartphone is within close proximity (approx. 10 feet) of the dash cam. Restart both the dash cam and the AZDOME App. Check your phone's Wi-Fi settings to ensure it's connected to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network.
- GPS Not Tracking or Inaccurate Data:
Ensure the dash cam has a clear, unobstructed view of the sky to receive GPS signals. Avoid mounting near metallic objects that might interfere with the signal. Allow a few minutes for the GPS to acquire a signal after powering on.
- Parking Mode Not Working:
Verify that the dash cam is correctly installed with the 3-Lead Hardwire Kit, ensuring all three wires (BAT, ACC, Ground) are properly connected to their respective power sources in the vehicle's fuse box.
