Important Safeguards

- Always keep the brewer lid closed during brewing.
- Do not remove the water reservoir lid during brewing.

Setup Guide
Follow these steps to prepare your Keurig K-Express Essentials for its first use.
1. Initial Rinse
- Remove all packaging tape and materials from the coffee maker.
- Place the coffee maker on a stable, level surface.
- Plug the coffee maker into a grounded outlet.
- Remove the water reservoir from the back of the unit. Wash it with warm, soapy water, then rinse thoroughly.
- Fill the water reservoir with fresh water up to the MAX fill line.
- Place a large mug (at least 10 oz) on the drip tray.
- Lift and lower the handle to close the K-Cup pod holder. Do not insert a K-Cup pod.
- Press the power button. The brew size buttons will flash.
- Select the 10 oz brew size button to start a cleansing brew.
- Once the brew is complete, discard the hot water. Your coffee maker is now ready for use.

Operating Instructions
Brewing your favorite beverage with the Keurig K-Express Essentials is simple.
1. Add Water
- Ensure the water reservoir is filled with fresh water. The "Add Water" indicator light will illuminate if the water level is too low.
2. Insert K-Cup Pod
- Lift the handle to open the K-Cup pod holder.
- Place a K-Cup pod into the holder.
- Lower the handle completely to close the holder.
3. Select Brew Size
- Place a mug on the drip tray. For travel mugs up to 7 inches tall, remove the drip tray.
- The brew size buttons (6 oz, 8 oz, 10 oz) will flash. Select your desired cup size.
4. Brew
- The selected brew size button will illuminate steadily, and brewing will begin.
- Once brewing is complete, the button will turn off. Carefully remove your mug.
- Lift the handle to eject the used K-Cup pod.
Continuous Brewing: The K-Express Essentials allows for immediate subsequent brews without reheating delays, making it convenient for multiple servings.

Cleaning the Water Reservoir
- The 36 oz detachable water tank should be cleaned regularly. Remove the lid and wash the reservoir with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
- Do not place the water reservoir in the dishwasher.
Cleaning the Drip Tray
- The drip tray can accumulate drips and should be emptied and cleaned periodically.
- Remove the drip tray, discard any liquid, and wash with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
Descaling
- Over time, calcium deposits (scale) can build up in your coffee maker. The "Descale" indicator light will illuminate when descaling is recommended.

Troubleshooting

"Add Water" Light On
- Ensure the water reservoir is filled above the minimum fill line.

No Brew or Partial Brew
- Check that the coffee maker is plugged in and powered on.
- Ensure the K-Cup pod is correctly inserted and the handle is fully lowered.
- Verify there is sufficient water in the reservoir.
- Perform a cleansing brew without a K-Cup pod to clear any air bubbles.
Weak Coffee
