4. Getting Started (Setup)

4.1 Charging the Camera

Before first use, fully charge the BOBLOV C18 camera. Connect the provided USB cable to the camera's charging port and a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port. The charging indicator on the OLED screen will show charging status. A full charge typically takes approximately 2 hours.

4.2 Inserting a Micro SD Card

The BOBLOV C18 uses a Micro SD card for storage (not included, 128GB version has internal storage). Locate the Micro SD card slot on the side of the camera. Gently insert the Micro SD card with the gold contacts facing down until it clicks into place. To remove, push the card in slightly until it springs out.

Note: It is recommended to format the Micro SD card via the camera's settings menu before first use to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.

4.3 Attaching the Back Clip

The detachable back clip allows for flexible mounting. Align the clip with the slot on the back of the camera and slide it into place until it locks securely. To remove, press the release tab (if present) and slide the clip off.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the Power button (usually on the side or top) for a few seconds until the OLED screen illuminates.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the Power button again until the screen turns off.

5.2 Recording Video

With the camera powered on, press the large front button once to start video recording. The recording indicator on the OLED screen will typically flash or change color. Press the large front button again to stop recording. Videos are saved automatically.

5.3 Taking Photos

While in standby mode (not recording video), press a designated Photo button (refer to your specific camera's button layout, often a smaller button near the main one) to capture a still image. The screen may briefly flash to indicate a photo has been taken.

5.4 Recording Audio

The camera supports audio-only recording. Navigate through the camera's modes using the menu buttons until you reach the audio recording mode. Press the main recording button to start/stop audio recording.

5.5 Accessing Files

  • Via USB: Connect the camera to a computer using the provided USB cable. The camera will appear as a removable disk, allowing you to transfer files.
  • Via WiFi App: Use the dedicated BOBLOV app on your smartphone to connect to the camera's WiFi. You can then view, download, and manage recorded videos and photos directly on your phone.

5.6 Setting Time Stamp

The OLED screen allows direct setting of the time stamp. Navigate to the settings menu on the camera's screen and adjust the date and time as needed. This ensures accurate time information is embedded in your recordings.

6. Connecting to the App (WiFi Function)

The BOBLOV C18 features built-in WiFi for seamless control and file transfer to your smartphone. Follow these steps:

  1. Download the official BOBLOV app from your smartphone's app store (Google Play Store for Android or Apple App Store for iOS).
  2. Power on your C18 camera.
  3. Enable WiFi on the camera through its menu settings. The OLED screen will display a WiFi icon.
  4. On your smartphone, go to WiFi settings and connect to the camera's WiFi network (e.g., "BOBLOV_C18_XXXX"). The default password is usually provided in the camera's on-screen display or the quick start guide.
  5. Open the BOBLOV app. The app should automatically detect and connect to the camera, allowing you to view live footage, browse recorded files, and adjust settings remotely.

7. Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera body. For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth and solution. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
  • Storage: Store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. If storing for extended periods, charge the battery to about 50% every few months.
  • Water Resistance: The BOBLOV C18 is Not Water Resistant. Avoid exposure to water, rain, or high humidity to prevent damage.
