1. Introduction

This long gun safe is designed to provide secure storage for your firearms and valuables, featuring a backlit keypad for quick access, an LED light for visibility, and a removable shelf for flexible storage. This manual provides essential information for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your safe to ensure optimal security and longevity.

2. Important Safety Information

  • Keep Keys Secure: Always store emergency keys in a secure location away from the safe and out of reach of children and unauthorized individuals.
  • Password Security: Do not share your password with unauthorized persons. Change your password regularly.
  • Child Safety: Firearms and ammunition should always be stored securely and out of reach of children. This safe is designed to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Proper Anchoring: For maximum security, the safe must be securely anchored to a floor or wall using the provided expansion screws. Failure to do so may compromise the safe's security.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries promptly when the low battery indicator appears to ensure continuous operation.

4. Product Features

4.1. Security & Anti-Theft Design

The Kavey Rifle Safe is constructed from durable low carbon alloy steel, engineered to resist tampering and prying. It features five robust locking bolts on two sides for enhanced security. The anti-corrosion finish and high-strength metal lock core further deter unauthorized access.

4.2. Speedy Access with Dual Passwords

Equipped with an advanced digital panel, this safe allows access in under 3 seconds using a smart numeric keypad. It supports two sets of passwords for multiple authorized users. An external battery box ensures access even if internal power is depleted, and the code memory function retains your settings.

4.3. Spacious & Thoughtful Storage

The safe offers a larger, deeper design to accommodate up to 5 rifles (up to 51 inches) and 7 guns or pistols. The interior is lined with soft foam and a carpeted floor to protect firearms. Integrated LED lighting improves visibility inside the safe, especially in low-light conditions. External dimensions: H54.33" x D11.02" x W11.81". Internal dimensions: H53.54" x D9.84" x W11.42".

4.4. Smart Anti-Tampering Alarm System

The safe features an intelligent alarm system that activates after three incorrect password attempts, sounding for 30 seconds. Any rough handling or vibration also triggers a 70-decibel alert. A mute function allows for silent operation when needed.

5. Installation

For optimal security, it is highly recommended to anchor your Kavey Rifle Safe to a solid surface such as a floor or wall. Pre-drilled holes are provided on the back and bottom of the safe for easy installation.

5.1. Choosing a Location

Select a discreet, dry, and secure location for your safe. Ensure it is placed on a level surface and away from direct heat or moisture.

5.2. Anchoring the Safe

  1. Position the safe in your desired location.
  2. Mark the drilling points through the pre-drilled holes on the back or bottom of the safe onto the wall/floor.
  3. Move the safe aside and drill holes at the marked points using an appropriate drill bit for your wall/floor material.
  4. Insert the expansion screws into the drilled holes.
  5. Align the safe with the screws and secure it tightly using a wrench or appropriate tool.

6. Operation

6.1. Initial Setup and Password Setting

  1. Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment (usually located on the inside of the door or behind the keypad) and insert 4 AA batteries (not included).
  2. Set Master Password:
    • With the door open, press the internal reset button (often a small red button or a button labeled "RESET"). The keypad will illuminate.
    • Enter your desired 4-8 digit password, then press "#" or "ENTER".
    • Re-enter the same password and press "#" or "ENTER" to confirm. A successful confirmation tone will sound.
  3. Test Password: Close the safe door. Enter your new password and press "#" or "ENTER". The safe should unlock.

6.2. Opening the Safe with Password

  1. Enter your 4-8 digit password on the backlit keypad.
  2. Press "#" or "ENTER".
  3. The safe will unlock, and you can open the door.

6.3. Using the Emergency Key

In case of forgotten password, battery failure, or electronic malfunction, the emergency key can be used to open the safe.

  1. Locate the emergency keyhole (usually hidden behind a cover on the keypad panel).
  2. Insert the emergency key and turn it clockwise while simultaneously turning the handle to open the safe.

6.4. External Power Supply

If the internal batteries are completely drained, you can use the provided Type-C cable and an external power source (e.g., power bank) to power the keypad temporarily.

  1. Connect the Type-C cable to the port on the keypad.
  2. Connect the other end to a power source.
  3. The keypad will power on, allowing you to enter your password and open the safe.

6.5. Mute Function

To disable audible alerts for discreet operation, refer to the specific instructions in your safe's quick start guide or contact customer support. This function is ideal for situations where silence is preferred.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the safe's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace all batteries simultaneously when the low battery indicator illuminates. Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types.
  • Keypad Care: Keep the keypad clean and dry. Avoid pressing buttons with excessive force.
  • Internal Lining: The soft foam and carpeted floor can be gently vacuumed or wiped to remove dust and debris.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1. Safe Does Not Open with Password

  • Incorrect Password: Ensure you are entering the correct 4-8 digit password. Remember that three incorrect attempts will trigger the alarm.
  • Low Batteries: The batteries may be low or depleted. Replace them or use the external Type-C power cable to open the safe.
  • Keypad Malfunction: If the keypad does not respond, try using the emergency key.

8.2. Alarm System Triggers Unexpectedly

  • Incorrect Attempts: The alarm will sound after three consecutive incorrect password entries.
  • Vibration/Tampering: The safe has an induction alarm that triggers if it detects significant movement or tampering. Ensure the safe is stable and not subject to accidental bumps.
  • Mute Function: If you prefer silent operation, activate the mute function as per the instructions.

8.3. LED Light Not Working

  • Batteries: Check and replace the batteries.
  • Sensor: Ensure the light sensor (if applicable) is not obstructed.
