Your Electactic Espresso Machine features an integrated conical burr grinder with 30 optional grind settings, allowing you to customize the grind size for optimal flavor extraction.
Figure 3: Illustration of different grind settings (Coarse, Medium, Fine) and the conical burr grinder.
Ensure the bean hopper is filled with fresh, whole coffee beans.
Select your desired grind size using the grind selector dial. Finer grinds are typically for espresso, while coarser grinds are for other brewing methods.
Insert the portafilter into the grinding cradle.
Press the grind button to start grinding. The machine will automatically grind the set amount.
Remove the portafilter once grinding is complete.

Figure 5: The PID Intelligent Temperature Control System ensures precise temperature for optimal coffee extraction.
Ensure the machine is pre-heated (all indicator lights solid).
Tamp the ground coffee in the portafilter evenly with the included tamper.
Wipe any excess coffee grounds from the rim of the portafilter.
Insert the portafilter into the brewing head and twist firmly to lock it in place.
Place your espresso cup(s) on the drip tray directly under the portafilter spouts.
Select either the 'Single Shot' or 'Double Shot' button to begin brewing.
Monitor the pressure gauge during brewing; the optimal range is typically in the middle (espresso zone).
The machine will automatically stop when the programmed volume is dispensed.
Figure 6: The machine offers single or double shot options with 15Bar output pressure and quick warm-up for brewing.
3. Frothing Milk
Create creamy milk foam for your favorite milk-based coffee drinks using the powerful steam wand.
Figure 7: The powerful steam wand produces delicate steam for rich and dense milk foam, perfect for lattes.
Fill a stainless steel milk jug with cold milk (do not fill more than one-third).
Position the steam wand over the drip tray and turn the control knob to the 'Steam' position to purge any condensed water. Turn it back to 'Off'.
Insert the steam wand into the milk, just below the surface.
Turn the control knob to the 'Steam' position.
Lower the jug slightly to introduce air for frothing, then raise it to submerge the wand for heating.
Continue until the milk reaches the desired temperature and texture.
Turn the control knob back to the 'Off' position and immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.
Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your espresso machine.
1. Daily Cleaning
Portafilter & Filter Baskets: After each use, remove spent coffee grounds and rinse the portafilter and filter baskets under hot water.
Steam Wand: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth. Purge steam briefly to clear any internal milk residue.
Drip Tray: Empty and clean the drip tray daily or when the 'Empty Me' indicator appears.
Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
2. Descaling
Descaling removes mineral buildup inside the machine, which can affect performance and coffee taste. The 'Clean/Descale' indicator light will illuminate when descaling is required.
Video: Official guide on 'How to Clean an Espresso Machine' by Electactic. This video demonstrates the descaling process for your machine.
Preparation: Ensure the water tank is empty. Fill it with 34oz (1 liter) of warm water and add descaling tablets or 1.5 scoops of white vinegar. Place two containers (each with a capacity of 34oz/1 liter) under the steam tube and brewing head respectively.
Initiate Descaling: With the machine in standby mode (all 4 buttons lit), press and hold both the 'Power' button and the 'Double Shot' button simultaneously for a few seconds until the 'Clean/Descale' indicator flashes slowly.
Descaling Cycle 1 (Steam Wand): Turn the control knob to the 'Steam' position. The machine will start dispensing hot water from the steam wand and brewing head. Allow the cycle to complete until water stops flowing.
Reset & Refill: Turn the control knob back to the 'Off' position. Empty and clean both containers. Clean the water tank thoroughly and refill it with fresh, clean water (at least 34oz/1 liter).
Descaling Cycle 2 (Hot Water): Turn the control knob to the 'Hot Water' position. The machine will again dispense hot water from both the brewing head and steam tube. Allow this cycle to complete until water stops flowing.
Completion: Turn the control knob back to the 'Off' position. The descaling process is now complete, and the 'Clean/Descale' indicator light should turn off.
