Operating Instructions

Brewing Coffee

  1. Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the desired level indicated on the carafe (max 12 cups / 1500 ml).
  2. Place the permanent washable filter into the filter basket. If using a paper filter, place it inside the permanent filter.
  3. Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is one tablespoon of coffee grounds per cup. Adjust to your taste.
  4. Close the lid securely.
  5. Place the empty glass carafe on the warming plate.
  6. Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.
  7. Press the ON/OFF button to start the brewing process. The indicator light will illuminate.
  8. The coffee maker will automatically brew the coffee. Once brewing is complete, the warming plate will keep the coffee hot.

Setting the Clock

  • Plug in the coffee maker. The display will show "12:00 AM".
  • Press the HR button to set the hour. Press and hold for faster adjustment.
  • Press the MIN button to set the minute. Press and hold for faster adjustment.
  • Ensure the AM/PM indicator is correct.

Programmable Timer (Delay Brew)

You can set the coffee maker to start brewing automatically at a later time.

  1. Prepare the coffee maker for brewing as described in "Brewing Coffee" (water, coffee grounds, carafe in place).
  2. Press the PROG button. The display will show "PROG" and flash.
  3. Use the HR and MIN buttons to set the desired start time.
  4. Press the PROG button again to confirm the setting. The "PROG" indicator will remain lit.
  5. The coffee maker will automatically start brewing at the programmed time.

Pause & Serve Function

This feature allows you to pour a cup of coffee before the brewing cycle is complete.

  • During the brewing cycle, you can temporarily remove the carafe from the warming plate. The flow of coffee will automatically stop.
  • Replace the carafe within 20 seconds to prevent overflow from the filter basket. Brewing will resume automatically.

Keep Warm Function

After brewing, the warming plate will automatically keep the coffee hot for a period of time (typically 30 minutes to 2 hours, refer to specific product details if available, otherwise general). The coffee maker will then automatically shut off.

1-4 Cup Function

For brewing smaller quantities of coffee (1-4 cups) with optimized flavor.

  • Prepare the coffee maker as usual with water and coffee grounds for 1-4 cups.
  • Press the 1-4 CUP button before pressing ON/OFF. An indicator light will show that the 1-4 cup function is active.
  • Then press ON/OFF to start brewing.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.

Daily Cleaning

  • Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning and allow it to cool completely.
  • Remove the glass carafe, filter basket, and permanent filter. Wash them in warm, soapy water. The permanent filter is washable and reusable, eliminating the need for disposable filters.
  • Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are generally top-rack dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity.
  • Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker, warming plate, and control panel with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Never immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.

Descaling (Mineral Deposit Removal)

Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting its performance. Descale your coffee maker every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water.

  1. Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of white vinegar and cold water (1:2 ratio, e.g., 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water).
  2. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  3. Run a full brewing cycle with the vinegar solution.
  4. After the cycle, turn off the coffee maker and let it sit for 15-30 minutes.
  5. Discard the vinegar solution.
  6. Run 2-3 full cycles of plain, cold water through the coffee maker to rinse thoroughly and remove any residual vinegar taste.
