4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning the Keyboard
Regular cleaning helps maintain keyboard performance and appearance.
- General Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution to wipe the keycaps and case. Avoid excessive moisture.
- Deep Cleaning: For thorough cleaning, remove keycaps using the keycap puller. Use compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the switches. Clean individual keycaps with a mild soap solution, rinse, and dry completely before reattaching.
4.2 Battery Care
The K10 Version 2 features a 4000mAh battery. To prolong battery life:
- Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
- Store the keyboard in a cool, dry place if not used for extended periods.
- Charge the keyboard using the provided USB-C cable connected to a standard USB power source.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Connectivity Issues
- Bluetooth not connecting: Ensure the keyboard is in Bluetooth mode and in pairing mode (Fn + 1/2/3 for 4 seconds). Check your device's Bluetooth settings. Try forgetting the device and re-pairing.
- Wired connection not working: Ensure the cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer. Verify the keyboard is in wired mode. Try a different USB port or cable.
5.2 Keys Not Responding
- Single key: If a single key is not responding, carefully remove the keycap and then the switch using the switch puller. Inspect the switch pins for bends or damage. Reinsert the switch firmly, ensuring proper alignment.
- Multiple keys: Ensure the keyboard is properly connected (wired or wireless). Check the OS switch setting. If the issue persists, a firmware reset or update may be necessary.
5.3 Backlight Issues
- Backlight off: Press the backlight key to cycle through effects. Adjust brightness using 'Fn' + arrow keys. Ensure the battery has sufficient charge if in wireless mode.
- Inconsistent lighting: This could indicate a software issue or a faulty LED. Try resetting the keyboard or updating firmware.
5.4 Firmware Updates
Keychron periodically releases firmware updates to improve performance and add features. Visit the official Keychron website for the latest firmware and instructions on how to update your K10 Version 2 keyboard.
