3.2 Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the monitor.
  2. Insert two (2) AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.3 Initial Setup (Date, Time, User Profiles)

Upon first use or after battery replacement, you may need to set the date and time. Refer to the on-screen prompts or the detailed instructions in the included manual for specific steps. The monitor supports two users, allowing each to store up to 120 readings.

3.4 App Pairing (Bluetooth Connectivity)

  1. Download the Homedics Health+ App from your device's app store.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone or tablet.

  4. Once paired, your readings will automatically sync to the app for easy tracking and management.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Preparing for Measurement

  • Avoid eating, drinking alcohol or caffeine, smoking, or exercising for 30 minutes before measurement.
  • Rest quietly for at least 5 minutes before taking a reading.
  • Sit in a comfortable position with your feet flat on the floor and your arm supported.

4.2 Proper Cuff Placement

  1. Wrap the cuff around your left wrist, approximately 1/2 inch (1 cm) from your palm.
  2. Ensure the monitor is on the inside of your wrist, with the display facing you.
  3. The Cuff Fitness Detection icon on the screen will indicate if the cuff is wrapped incorrectly, too loose, or too tight, guiding you to achieve an accurate fit.

4.3 Taking a Measurement

  1. Press the START/STOP button. The cuff will begin to inflate using Smart Measure Inflation Technology, which automatically adjusts for a personalized and comfortable measurement.
  2. Remain still and quiet during the measurement.
  3. Once the measurement is complete, your systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate will be displayed.

4.4 Understanding Your Readings

  • Irregular Heartbeat Detection: If an irregular heartbeat is detected during the measurement, an icon will appear on the display. Consult your physician if this occurs frequently.
  • Risk Category Index: The monitor compares your results to the American Heart Association (AHA 2017) blood pressure levels, providing a visual indication of your reading's category.
  • Memory Function: The device stores up to 120 readings for each of two users. It also provides a memory average of the last 3 readings.
  • AM/PM Averaging: View averages based on the last 3 morning or last 3 evening readings.
