4. Maintenance
4.1. Cleaning the Filter
The programmer includes a stainless steel filter at the inlet to prevent debris from entering. Periodically check and clean this filter to ensure optimal water flow:
- Turn off the faucet and disconnect the programmer.Remove the filter screen from the inlet.
- Rinse the filter under running water to remove any accumulated debris.
- Reinsert the clean filter and reconnect the programmer to the faucet.
4.2. Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears on the LCD, replace the batteries promptly to avoid interruption of watering schedules. Refer to section 2.1 for battery installation instructions.
4.3. Winter Storage
Before the first frost, disconnect the programmer from the faucet and hoses. Drain any remaining water from the unit. Store the programmer indoors in a dry, frost-free location to prevent damage from freezing temperatures.
5. Troubleshooting
- No Water Flow:
- Check if the faucet is fully open.
- Ensure batteries are installed correctly and have sufficient power. Replace if necessary.
- Verify that the watering schedule is correctly programmed and activated (dial set to 'ON').
- Check the inlet filter for clogs and clean if needed.
- Ensure the water pressure is adequate (minimum 0.8 MPa recommended).
- Continuous Water Flow / Valve Not Closing:
- This can sometimes occur with a new unit, especially if a zone was not initially activated. Try running a short manual watering cycle (e.g., 1 minute) for the affected zone to allow the internal valve to cycle and close properly.
- Check for debris in the valve mechanism by cleaning the inlet filter.
- Ensure the dial is not set to 'ON' without a program or manual cycle running.
- Programming Errors:
- Review the programming steps in section 3.2 carefully.
- Ensure you are selecting the correct zone (A or B) before setting its parameters.
- Confirm each setting with the 'OK/⏸' button.
- Display Not Working:
- Check battery installation and replace batteries.
- Ensure the battery compartment is dry and free of corrosion.
