For thorough cleaning or sharpening, the blade can be removed.

Figure 5.1: The integrated blade sharpener for convenience.
- Ensure the slicer is unplugged.
- Locate the blade removal mechanism (refer to your specific model's diagram if needed, usually a central knob or screws).
- Carefully remove the blade, handling it by its center to avoid direct contact with the sharp edge.
- Clean the blade with warm, soapy water and a brush. Rinse and dry immediately.
- To sharpen, engage the built-in sharpener according to the instructions provided with the unit. Typically, this involves rotating the sharpener into position and briefly running the blade.
- Reattach the blade securely, ensuring it is properly aligned.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Slicer does not turn on | Not plugged in; power switch off; circuit breaker tripped. | Check power connection; ensure switch is ON; reset circuit breaker. |
| Uneven slices | Dull blade; food not held firmly; incorrect thickness setting. | Sharpen blade; ensure food is secure with pusher; adjust thickness setting. |
| Motor stops during operation | Overheating; food too hard/frozen. | Allow motor to cool down; ensure food is partially thawed. |
| Difficulty cleaning | Food residue dried on. | Clean immediately after use; remove blade for thorough cleaning. |
