3. Setup Guide
- Assembly (if not pre-assembled):
- Carefully assemble the brick-built case components. The gasket mount design involves 27 distinct parts (totaling 97 pieces) for the case.
- Install the Poron foam and gaskets into the case.
- Place the POM plate onto the gaskets.
- Insert the hot-swappable PCB into the assembly.
- Install the linear switches into the PCB. Ensure they are properly seated.
- Attach the PBT keycaps to the switches.

- Connect to Device:
- Connect the provided USB-C cable to the numpad's USB-C port.
- Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to an available USB port on your computer (Windows or Mac).
- The numpad is plug-and-play and should be recognized automatically by your operating system.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Basic Functionality
The 01Adam Numpad functions as a standard 17-key numeric keypad. Keys include numbers 0-9, arithmetic operators (+, -, *, /), Enter, Num Lock, Esc, Home, End, PgUp, PgDn, Ins, and Del. The layout is designed for efficient data entry.
4.2. RGB Lighting
The numpad features customizable RGB lighting. It comes with pre-programmed lighting patterns. To adjust or change lighting effects, utilize the QMK/Vial software (see section 4.3).

4.3. Customization with QMK/Vial
The KBDcraft 01Adam Numpad fully supports QMK (Quantum Mechanical Keyboard) and VIA software, allowing for extensive customization of key assignments, macros, and RGB lighting effects. Vial is a user-friendly graphical interface for QMK, making customization more accessible.
- Download Software: Visit the official QMK or Vial website to download the necessary software for your operating system (Windows/Mac).
- Connect Numpad: Ensure your numpad is connected via USB-C.

5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the numpad. For deeper cleaning, remove keycaps and use compressed air to clear debris.
- Keycap Removal/Replacement: Use a keycap puller to gently remove keycaps. When replacing, align the keycap with the switch stem and press down firmly until it clicks into place.
- Switch Replacement: The numpad features hot-swappable switches. Use a switch puller to carefully remove switches. Align new 3-pin/5-pin MX-type switches with the PCB sockets and press firmly until seated.
6. Troubleshooting
- Numpad not recognized:
- Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the numpad and your computer.
- Try connecting to a different USB port on your computer.
- Test with a different USB-C cable if available.
- Restart your computer.
- Keys not responding:
- Check if the keycaps are properly seated on the switches.
- If using hot-swappable switches, ensure the switch is fully inserted into the PCB socket.
- If a specific switch is faulty, replace it with a new one.
- RGB lighting issues:
- Ensure the numpad is powered on and connected.
- Use the QMK/Vial software to check and adjust lighting settings.
