1. Introduction and Safety Information
Thank you for choosing Chenyu Furniture Anchors. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective installation and use of your furniture anchors. Furniture tip-overs can cause serious injury or death, especially to children. Properly securing furniture to a wall is a critical safety measure for any home, particularly those with young children or in areas prone to earthquakes.
These anchors are designed to provide a strong, reliable connection between your furniture and the wall, significantly reducing the risk of accidental tipping. Please read all instructions carefully before installation.

3. Setup and Installation
Tools Required: Drill, drill bit (appropriate size for expansion nail and screws), hammer, pen/pencil, screwdriver.
- Mark Screw Holes: Position the furniture in its desired location. Mark the screw holes on the wall and the back of the furniture where the brackets will be attached. Ensure the anchor point on the wall is at a height that allows the furniture to be pulled forward slightly without tipping, but not so high that the cable is visible or creates a hazard.
- Drill Holes: Drill pilot holes into the wall at the marked locations. For drywall or masonry, use a drill bit slightly smaller than the expansion nail. For wood studs, use a drill bit appropriate for the large screw.
- Insert Expansion Nails (if applicable): If installing into drywall or masonry, gently tap the expansion nail into the drilled hole with a hammer until it is flush with the wall surface.
- Attach Wall Mount: Secure one stainless steel bracket to the wall using the big stainless steel screw. Ensure it is firmly tightened.
- Attach Furniture Mount: Secure the second stainless steel bracket to the back of the furniture using the small stainless steel screw. Ensure it is firmly tightened.
- Connect Steel Cable: Pass the steel wire strap through the holes of both mounted brackets. Secure the ends of the steel cable by twisting the rotatory switch mechanism until it is tight and the cable forms a secure loop. Ensure there is minimal slack in the cable to prevent excessive furniture movement.
Important Considerations:
- Always attach anchors to a solid part of the furniture frame, not just the thin back panel.
- For optimal safety, attach anchors to a wall stud if possible. If not, use the provided expansion nails for drywall.
- If the provided steel cable length is insufficient for your furniture and wall distance, you can extend it by connecting two pieces together using the rotatory switch mechanism.

Video 1: This video demonstrates the strength testing of the furniture anchors, showing a single item exceeding a static load of 150 lbs. It also provides a visual guide for drilling holes, inserting expansion anchors, securing the metal plate to the wall and furniture, and properly attaching the steel cable. Note: The video includes demonstrations of extreme load testing and climbing a ladder attached to the anchor; these are for product testing purposes only and should not be attempted by users.
4. Operating Instructions
Once properly installed, the Chenyu Furniture Anchors operate passively by securing your furniture to the wall. There are no active operating steps required. However, it is crucial to ensure the anchors remain effective:
- Verify Security: After installation, gently attempt to pull the furniture away from the wall to confirm that the anchors are securely holding it in place and that there is minimal movement.
- Child Safety: Regularly remind children not to climb on furniture, even if it is anchored. Anchors are a safety measure, but direct supervision is always recommended.
- Furniture Movement: If you need to move the furniture for cleaning or rearrangement, carefully detach the steel cable from one of the brackets, move the furniture, and then re-secure the cable once the furniture is back in its desired, anchored position.

5. Maintenance
To ensure the continued effectiveness of your Chenyu Furniture Anchors, periodic maintenance is recommended:
- Regular Inspection: At least once every six months, or after any significant event (e.g., earthquake, furniture relocation), inspect all installed anchors.
- Check for Tightness: Verify that all screws are tight and that the steel cable is securely fastened and has minimal slack.
- Examine for Wear: Check the steel cable and brackets for any signs of wear, corrosion, bending, or damage. If any component shows signs of damage, replace the entire anchor set immediately.
- Cleanliness: Keep the anchors free from dust and debris. A damp cloth can be used for cleaning.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Furniture still wobbles or moves excessively. | Loose screws, too much slack in the cable, improper installation into a weak wall material. | Tighten all screws. Adjust the steel cable to remove slack. If installed into drywall without a stud, ensure the expansion nail is fully engaged. Consider relocating the anchor to a wall stud or using a stronger wall anchor if the wall material is insufficient. |
| Steel cable appears damaged or frayed. | Wear and tear, excessive force, improper installation. | Immediately replace the entire anchor set. Do not attempt to repair damaged cables. |
| Bracket is bent or broken. | Excessive force, manufacturing defect, improper installation. | Replace the entire anchor set. |
