  3. Initial Boil: Fill the kettle with water to the maximum level. Boil the water and then discard it. Repeat this process 2-3 times to remove any manufacturing residues.
  4. Placement: Place the power base on a stable, flat, and dry surface. Ensure the power cord is not dangling where it can be tripped over.

5. Operating Instructions

Using your IRIS OHYAMA Electric Kettle is simple:

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure optimal performance and longevity of your kettle.

  1. Before Cleaning: Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the kettle and the power base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
  3. Interior Cleaning: Rinse the inside of the kettle with clean water. For stubborn stains, use a soft sponge and mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly.
  4. Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. To descale:
    • Fill the kettle with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar (or a commercial descaling solution) up to the MAX line.
    • Boil the mixture and then let it stand for at least 30 minutes, or longer for heavy buildup.
    • Discard the mixture and rinse the kettle several times with fresh water to remove any vinegar odor or residue.
