1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the BOSWELL 4.5QT Glass Air Fryer. This appliance is designed to provide a versatile and efficient cooking experience, utilizing 360° hot air circulation for crispy results with less oil. Its transparent glass bowl allows for easy monitoring of your food during cooking. Please read this manual thoroughly before first use to ensure safe and optimal operation.

2. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

  • Read all instructions before using the appliance.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the main unit in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to “off”, then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  • Ensure the appliance is placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from walls and other appliances to allow for adequate air circulation.
  • Do not block any ventilation openings.

4. Setup

Unboxing and Initial Cleaning:

  1. Remove all packaging materials, stickers, and labels from the appliance.
  2. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth.
  3. Wash the glass cooking basket and mesh tray with hot water, dish soap, and a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. These parts are also dishwasher safe.

First Use (Burn-in Process):

Before cooking food, it is recommended to run the air fryer for a short period to eliminate any manufacturing odors.

  1. Place the mesh tray inside the glass cooking basket, then insert the basket into the main unit.
  2. Plug the power cord into a grounded wall outlet. The control panel will illuminate.
  3. Set the temperature to 400°F (200°C) and the time to 5-10 minutes.
  4. Press the Start/Cancel button to begin. A slight odor may be present during this initial run; this is normal.
  5. Once complete, unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down completely.

5. Operating Instructions

The BOSWELL Glass Air Fryer features a touch control panel for easy operation. The appliance uses 360° hot air circulation to cook food evenly and efficiently.

Using the Control Panel:

  • Power On/Off: Plug in the appliance to power on. Unplug to power off.
  • Preset Functions: The control panel includes 5 preset buttons for common foods: Seafood, Bake, French Fries, Steak, and Chicken. Pressing a preset button will automatically set a recommended time and temperature.
  • Custom Settings: Use the 'Custom' button to manually adjust time and temperature.
  • Temperature Adjustment (TEMP +/-): Adjust temperature in increments. The range is 140°F to 400°F.
  • Time Adjustment (TIME +/-): Adjust cooking time in increments. The range is 5 to 60 minutes.
  • Start/Cancel: Press to start or pause cooking. Press and hold to cancel the current program.

Cooking Process:

  1. Place food on the mesh tray inside the glass cooking basket. Do not overfill; ensure food is in a single layer for best results.
  2. Insert the glass basket into the main unit.
  3. Select a preset function or set custom time and temperature.
  4. Press 'Start/Cancel' to begin cooking.
  5. Monitor cooking progress through the transparent glass bowl.
  6. For even cooking, shake or flip food halfway through the cooking cycle if necessary. Use the provided cooking tweezers or an air fryer glove.
  7. Once cooking is complete, carefully remove the glass basket using the handle. Place it on the non-slip silicone pad or a heat-resistant surface.
  8. Serve food and unplug the appliance.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your air fryer. Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

Cleaning the Glass Cooking Basket and Mesh Tray:

  • The glass inner liner and stir-fry basket are coated with non-toxic materials, effectively preventing food residue adhesion.
  • These components are dishwasher safe for convenient cleaning.
  • Alternatively, wash by hand with warm water, dish soap, and a non-abrasive sponge. For stubborn residue, soak in warm soapy water for 10-15 minutes before scrubbing.
  • Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reassembling or storing.

Cleaning the Main Unit:

  • Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Clean the interior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Ensure no water enters the electrical components.
  • Never immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your BOSWELL Air Fryer, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
